The title says it all. I have a very good room and system setup in place so no one can play in my world unless we let them. here goes...
You need to locate the spawning area on your map. Its is a 20x20 block area. Then dig all the way to bedrock in the whole 20x20 area. Bedrock is @ layer 5 & 4. For me it was from 83 -> 5 & 4. If you dont like the spawn area recreate the map and it will give a different one. Once the whole 20x20 area is down to bedrock dig 5 blocks in every direction so there is a nice ring at the bottom of the 20x20 area. Also make it 6 blocks high cause this is the maximum reach distance from ground. Then from the 5th block area you should be out of the SPAWN AREA and be able to make a wall of lava from the ceiling (6th block) and i stagared some stone so it would work its way to the spawn. This keeps people from being able to dig at the walls in any direction. Once this is done your hard work is over. Luckly me we had a huge pull of lava under the spawn so when we dug it was easy to get the lava there. Then dig 1 1 block hole outside of the 20x20 i just went like 2 bricks away and dug strait down (i know i know) and then made a ladder go up it. This stops @ any lvl u want i stopped @ 10 and dug into the 20x20 area.
Thats it then... Now when someone joins into you world the are suck in this hole. They cant dig anywhere to build out of it. If its a friend who joins u can go down the ladder and build a temp ramp to the ladder for him to get out and use a bed for his new spawn area. It works great and stops all kinds of idiots who join lol. The only bad part is if u use game chat they yell let me out etc lol. But they dont last long....
Enjoy here is a pick from the top. it took 3 people a couple hours to dig this out with mostly iron pickaxes and alot of stone ones till u find iron.
PS: dont forget to check if your crouched when looking down in. I forgot and thought i was and ahhhhhhhh. dead.
I like. I posted this topic under Server:Protection from griefers. We decided to build a tower straight up instead and built an iron door with a pit around that when a random comes in and he gets the ok we build a bridge for him to get out.

well i did this at first also. The problem is that u can dig out the floor with ur hands it just takes time and then u will spawn on the ground. My way they cannot dig anywhere to get blocks to build out or go down or any direction lol. So id be carefull with ur in air area.
