Right now if you setup a game and set the autosave settings up it will autosave while you are playing in the world. Great... So i setup autosave and let people play on the server last night and came back in the morning some 8+ hours later and as soon as i turned on my controler i hit b to exit out of the menu since when you go afk the menu loads up and then the autosave went. So it wouldnt go all night long cause i was afk in the menu. Im not sure if it is working right or not. I dont think it is to wait for a user to not be doing something to save. It should save no matter what when it hits the set increment.
Other then that the save works wonders it only takes 5-10 seconds compared to if i manually run save which takes about 15-25.
Also @4J = it would be nice to have some option for incremental version saves so that if some nasty does happen its not the end of the world :). Say like an option for say (off, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) this should cover a full 24 hours for those who cant get on durning sleep & work hours.
Example With setting of 2
@ 1:00 AM Worldstart
@ 1:15 Worldsave.save //First world auto save
@ 1:30 Worldsave.save -> rename to Worldsave1.save && Save current world as Worldsave.save
@ 1:45 Worldsave1.save -> rename to Worldsave2.save && Worldsave.save -> Worldsave1.save && Save current world as Worldsave.save
This would continue up to your set amount 2-12 or whatever versioning system you com up with.
OR at least 1 version extra save incase of corruption of world so we dont have to exit game and manually copy world to another save device.
I think the comunity would love this feature and would be a @4J++
That's kind of how it's meant to work. It does the same if the game is paused. I had it paused for 20 minutes, came back, continued playing and it immediately autosaved. I don'tthink it's a bug. Since it requires that special screen to autosave, I think it needs to be when you are out of any and all menus.
the only thing i want from the auto save now is a warning that is going to auto save in 60 secs or something like that it scares me when it happens when attacking creepers
agree agree agree. In fact it ended up killing me, thank god I got all my stuff back. But for whatever reason it let the creeper move just a few seconds/milli seconds before releasing me and he hugged me. I knew it was gunna happen too, I could just see it, and sure enough it got me.
Workaround. manually save while exploring, auto save while building, this is my workaround,
Has anyone lost there stuff becaus of autosave because it auto saved for me so in ended it. After awile i started my word back up and i was at the spawn with just a map. The part that made me mad tho was i lost my dimond sword 20 dimonds that toke me foever to flipin find so back to the mines!!!!

A workaround: if you have a play and charge cable, plug your controller into it and it will not auto-off.
