I updated and played for about 20 min, and noticed when digging gravel the drop animation was gone and the sound as well, the gravel just teleported. I just thought nothing of it until, I died from nothing. Literally no sound, no visual explosion, no enemy. I was confused now, so I traveled back to my place of death and saw nothing, picked up my stuff but, never saw it on the actual ground. So I tried to drop some items but they did not appeared. I haven't created a new world since the update, so could that be it?
I now found some clay (probably 40 blocks) in about 3 spots in the unexplored part of my old world. Didn't find any anywhere before.
Clay was not a big deal for me either way, but now I can put a proper chimney on my house.
Very surprised by that since your world is supposed to be generated when you first load it on XBL not when you discover it. Great news though
My understanding of it is that if you have unexplored sections of your map, they aren't actually generated yet until you approach them. If you approach them after the patch then the seed will generate clay as it should have, rather than when it was bugged. However if you've already visited the area, it has no need to regenerate it, so no clay.
I can't explain the other problems alluded to in this thread though.
For some reason you can't take photos as the host, but as another player in the game you can. When I pause the game as host the (Y) Share option isn't there. Just (A) Select (B )Back (X) Change Storage device.

It happens to me sometimes try backing out and coming back in or saving.
Yes that is my understanding of how the P.C. version works however relatively recently 4JStudios stated that your whole world was generated when you first loaded it which contradicts with the evidence that the gentleman above gave.
This.
PC creates new chunks as you explore. This leads to weird issues - like not having Strongholds in old worlds but the Eye of Ender still pointing you to coordinates where it should be. Xbox doesn't generate like this - at least, that's what I also remember hearing from 4J. They've also stated they "cannot touch" your already generated worlds.
Until I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume that 40 blocks of clay was already there.
Clay will continue to be in short supply. Even though the bug has been fixed, it only generates in or on the sides of water. If your world doesn't have much water, you aren't going to have much clay. In a later update, Mojang increased the frequency of clay. So it will become even more abundant in the future again.
Since I downloaded the update, I restarted my world on seed 888. I've found alot more clay than just the 2 blocks I orginally found near the spawn point, but I have noticed another weird occurance that I've not encountered before. I've had phantom block just phase into exsistance where I've already mined. I burrowed into a hillside to make a temporary base to work from. I cleared a room out 15x15x5. I set up up torches evenly spaced down the sides, 3 rows up from the floor, and a column of jack-o-laterns dead centered in the room. The weird thing is, I left to mine more wood in the morning, and when I returned, there were randomly place blocks of stone, that had reappered around the ceiling. There were about 4-5 of them to start with. but as I was chiseling the last one away, another reappeared 2 blocks from the one I was working on. I was playing offline, and I've never invited anyone to my world since day 1, so I know it wasn't another person yanking me, and its not happened since, but it was weird none the less.
Has this happened to anyone else?
