I host my world and have a high quality connection on a cable line and one thing I have noticed is all of my players in the world don't have as much of the map that will rez in for them and I can see a lot further and can see a lot of what we have built from much further away.
Is this because of me hosting, or my connection or the fact I have played so much and have covered almost all of the map walking around ?
Yea, I've noticed the first time I've loaded into someones world I'll see endless abysses that'll load into areas of the map occasionaly. So there is a bit of lag
With anything P2P hosts will always have a more enjoyable experience. Unless you're Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, Treyarch, or Raven Software and enjoy lag comping the crap out of people. Then the host's experience is just as crappy.(Before anyone argues this if they feel the need. I know lag compensation is required with any online gaming to make it playable at all. But some companies like the ones I mentioned suck.)
Your friend's connection will also come into play though. If they have crappy internet(Not just download and upload speeds. PING is important as well) then they're not really gonna have a good time playing online. You've gotta be able to connect to other people well before their internet really matters.
