I built a simple train station with a pez-style cart dispenser, however it dispenses two carts at a time instead of one. I am using a trapdoor wired to a piece of detector rail.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Make the pulse from the detector rail shorter... I can make a pc screenshot of a design to do the job in a sec.

Here you go... Make sure the redstone dust trails into the repeater and put the repeater the dust leads into on full delay. You can add more repeaters along the redstone to adjust it to a longer pulse. The redstone torch on the right is the output and can be on any of the 3 available faces of the block it is currently attached to.
