I'm happy the first (semi) patch is comming out but not really happy the item duplication glitch is getting fixed. The glitch is the closest you can get to being in Creative Mode and just building whatever you want. MCXBLA has been out nearly 2 months by the time Patch 1.7 is out and I cant even begin to fathom how long it will take for Patch 1.8 to be out with Creative Mode.
I'm excited that the item bar isn't gonna be in the middle of the screen anymore. At least I think that's what they mean by being able to turn off tool tips.

I don't believe that's what that means, that's where the item bar goes.

Yeah, that's not what they mean. The item bar is where it should be, an example of a tooltip is when you put the cursor over a block in your inventory and it tells you what it is. Some people get annoyed with them because they pop up and block you from seeing other inventory slots.

I realize this, but in the PC version, the item bar is at the very bottom of the screen. I find it pretty annoying that the bar is so high up on the screen. I thought the in-game hints were the things that pop up, and the tool tips were the things underneath the tool bar that told you what triggers to press to mine and place blocks.

Never played the PC version, but I can see how the higher item bar would be annoying. Would be interesting to see if they could put in an on/off option for the buttom prompts and free up some more space. I don't see why not, it doesn't take long to figure out what buttons do what and then you never look at those prompts again.
The "in-game hints" they're talking about are the big boxes that pop up the first time you encounter a new thing in the game to tell you what it is and what it's used for. Tooltip is a generic term for something that happens on a mouseover.
But this is literally everything they said was going to be in the July update minus Pistons.
That worries me because that means the only thing update wise I care about will be pushed back 3 or months for the adventure update or we are paying for pistons.
4J would not go though the entire process of updating a month from now just to add pistons.
I'm not really sure where you're going with this. Both of these updates have been coming, 1.7.3 is supposed to come sometime in July. Pistons are in 1.7.3, that's never changed. They will be there, and not in DLC if that's what you mean by paying for pistons, we're not. With all the ground they have to make up they're not updating everything exactly how PC was done. We're getting some things from later updates sooner, for example some of the 1.8 lighting in 1.7.3 (IIRC). Give 4J props for doing what they can, they're not JUST adding pistons.
I don't know where you got the "this is everything they said was in the July update" bit from, but I feel as though you've been misinformed.
sorry dude that's not in this update
If it dies it will be your fault... SO CLICK IT!
It sort of does if you're having that issue in the spawn area.....
It doesn't look like it
No, that's not until 1.8 I believe.

Pistons will come with 1.7.3. This is a Title/Bug Fix Update, not a patch. Just hang in there a little longer
