Switching between Peaceful and Higher Difficulty Levels is a nice feature. When the Creepers get me livid, I just turn them off for a while.
But I've noticed that switching from, say, Easy to Peaceful, does not remove the slimes. In fact, it seems to put more down there. I came down to see more quivering green jelly than a hospital cafeteria. Perhaps a bug?
Also, I'm wondering if anyone else thinks the sword-connect-code for slimes is broken. Sometimes a giant slime hops over to me, and I swing the sword dead center mass, unquestionably a hit, but it goes through him like air. Really not fun since slimes do a disproportionately large amount of damage even on the Easy setting, and getting slime-bludgeoned sometimes is hard to recover from.
That only seems to happen on the big slimes, mind.
I had seen this happen. I had a small slime however following me (Was on normal), thought it was cute so i saved and went to play another game. After a while i had an idea on a build so i hopped back onto minecraft and set it too peaceful, and the small slime was still hopping around, i even went as far to exit without saving and see if i had set it on peaceful. It was still there.
i got 1 hit by a big slime while mining diamonds, RAGE quit. lol i hate slimes so much but i stll hunt them for the piston update in july i gotta stock up on slime balls i recommend doing so for sticky pistons.
I wish I would get slimed for once. Seriously, I haven't found a single slime yet and I almost exclusively mine very close to bedrock. By now I'm so sick of fighting all the non-slime mobs all the time that I'm playing on peaceful to light up the caves like a Christmas tree to prevent or at least greatly reduce the chance of other mobs spawning before switching difficulty. Still, not a single slime.

Is it a chicken or is it a duck? - It's a chuck, because dicken sounds stupid.

This is odd. I have so many slimes down there every single time. I also have a huge auditorium cleared out when I arrive at the bottom, and they mostly appear in there. Maybe that has something to do with it....
