He probably meant that he's in need of men power.
Maybe OP is too lazy to mine all that obsidian by himself.
I wonder if someone agrees to mine it for him.
Considering it took me a few hours to mine out almost 1000 blocks of obsidian by myself I'ld have to pass on the OP's offer. After that nightmare I only have two rules for people who enter my map...1. Don't create huge craters with TNT and 2. Don't build using obsidian.
That means you've spent over 9000 seconds mining obsidian which makes 150 minutes.
Not exactly I don't have the paitence to sit there and mine it nonstop so I added downtime to that 150 minutes...Seriously though they need a better way to destroy obsidian.
If only you had just built this setup where your pillars were going to go, you wouldn't have had to mine all that obsidian.
Remember - obsidian structures are much easier to cast than to mine and build.
That would be a good idea, I never thought of that... It still would have taken a lot of work though, my skyscraper is huge, it reaches to just 3 blocks under the limit of the sky and has 8 x pillars of obsidian =)

I am half done with a tunnel that runs along all 4 edges of the map down at bedrock. When I run into lava lakes while digging it, I eliminate them because this tunnel will be a 4km endless loop someday when its done and I want it flat and straight. Cleared some huge lakes 5 or 6 blocks deep. I either use a water source nearby and channel it over to the lava or else I make my own water source. Change one layer to obisidian at a time, shut water off and pickaxe it away. Repeat on next layer until entire lava lake has been turned to obsidian from top to bottom. It started as an "I wonder if I could do this" project and now it's like an obsession, the lava lake will NEVER win. LOL
Not sure what to do with all my obsidian tho, pretty pointless I guess.
Obsidian is mined with a diamond pick axe. With a certain amout of obsidian you can make a portal to the nether. And you can make your own obsidian putting lava into water.
Not helpful to the OP, but if you want obsidian...
Just have a second player break the portal you use to go to/from the Nether. The game will generate a new portal every time and you can harvest the old frame....

It still took me a day nearly to mine all the obsidian i needed, but it was an endless source =)

This thread bores me.
