Well today was my first day ever of playing Minecraft. I've spent about 4 hours building my house and I have saved several times but I don't want to quit in fear of it now being there anymore.
Is it ok if i just quit? Can i load it back later?

There's a chance the game will lock up if you choose "Exit and Save". Always Save, then Exit without Saving.
And FYI - the chest at the top isn't an autosave. Make sure you manually save your game whenever you can.
