I read in the bug fix update list that placing buckets near spawn is going to be fixed. That is nice but that's not the problem that I have been having. My problem is when I'm in split screen, the host is the only one that can place buckets anywhere. It doesn't matter where on the map we are. Is that going to be fixed also?
I had something happen in one of my worlds earlier.
However I tried roughly 10 buckets of water and all of them disappeared, and my friend who was there was able to take them and just pour them and then I was able to pour them again as well.

thanks for the input guys. had better luck today with buckets (lave ans water both). seems to be a bug that shows up when it wants to. hope it is fixed but still a lil leery on the "msg warning about placing buckets near spawn" point in the bug list that was released. hopeing that 4jsteve or 4jstu can shed some light in on it. most of the time the host can place buckets for me or neither one of us can.
i'm going to miss the dupe bug a lil. i loved having a legit world and a dupe world while it lasted.

I'm pretty sure that's just there as a warning about making your own spawn point unlivable by dropping lava around it. It's not a bug fix.
