Ok I think ive been having a similar problem to other people. I have tv about 2 years old and I recently noticed the hot bar is still vaguely visible when my tv shows like a projected black screen (not off) and it kinda annoys me. The weird thing is that my tv is an LCD tv so I dont see why im having the same problem as plasma tv people with Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition. I don't see the hotbar when the tv is off.
Find the HDTV product number (usually looks like kdv-100???) and google it. Check out reviews and see if other people are having the same problem. Hope this helps

Let me ask you this. Do you ever leave the game up, and paused with your tv on and go away for hours at a time, because this sounds like a classic case of Screen Burn in ....which you can't fix unless you buy a new TV.
you can stop it from getting any worse by enabling the Screen saver in the Xbox Video settings
