I just bought Minecraft Dlc at gamestop and I was wondering if I need Xbox live Gold to play or silver
To play on one console.
I work at GameStop, and tell people as they buy it that some form of an Xbox live account is required for the DLC. Although the account does not need to be gold (premium) but it does need to be at least silver (free).
If you wish you wish to play with friends though you must have Gold.
I bought it and they said I dont need the live. But they were wrong. You need silver which is free for it to work. You will need internet also but not when your playing it.

This is actually not true. You can create a profile and select "Done" when prompted to sign up for XBox Live, creating a non-Live-enabled profile, and still play the game and earn achievements. Yes, I have tested this. No, I am not entirely normal.

Not with arcade games. You must have a live account to download anything from the marketplace. (You may be able to put in the code and download it without a live account if that's what you mean. Never tried it.)
