OMG I'm ending this friggin Cloud discussion here. If you want to get technical you could connect your xbox to your computer and upload it to a free cloud storage space if for some God damn reason you must have the cloud without a gold membership...
^^(This would be pretty stupid as you would already have it backed up on your computer by this point..)
So can we please just drop the whole cloud technicalities that have already been clearly discussed... Thanks : )
If you have any more cloud/membership questions please refrain from posting them on this thead unless not previously mentioned as it is an arguement that has already been argued continuously for no apparent reason.. Thanks
(That was a reiteration as most of you seem to need to see things repeated I guess.)
......try reading my next post...... the one where I say I was wrong.....
I didn't mean for what I said to be considered me calling you out for being wrong, I just wanted to make sure you weren't ill informed. I didn't see your other post as I quite literally was walking out the door for work as I was writing the response.
You do not need gold to purchase DLC if you are paying for it. You do need at least a silver account. That would be silly to not allow someone to purchase something because of them not wanting a gold experience. However if the download is free, silver members must wait a week before they can download said DL.
Its only on Demos that there is a wait, before I went back gold I never had to wait to purchase content. Gold only really allows you to take advantage of some apps, cloud storage. MP on your games and DotW.
1) Load the game save and then press start.
2) *make sure you got more than one storage device*, then hit the "X" button and select a new device.
2a) If there is no save on the new selected device, then when the game save it will save with no cluster chunks, thus saveing on room and less errors.
3) Enjoy.
Thats three times. And like I said, Gold is not Free, Cloud is.
Technically its not Cloud is included in the costs of Gold sub hence you have to pay to use Cloud. You may not have to pay any when you want to use it once gold but doesnt exclude the fact that you need to be Gold, hence pay money to use said feature.
Lost my world too, it really sucks. I haven't played the 360 edition in 2 days because I lost over 20+ hours of work. gone just like that. I kept the map thinking they might patch problem but deap down I know its gone forever

Which is exactly what I meant with what I said about free content being the only thing silver members had to wait for access to.
not all free content is on a delay like I said when i was silver I only had to wait for Demos of retail games to try them, I never was stopped from doing trials for arcade or what not.
Good job spreading the word man, I myself, already knew this but thought alot of other people already knew. You can also back it up to the pc and share it on the web too. =D
A friend and I share a world using cloud storage. We made a new gold account that we share, and had that account start the world. Now whoever is online first signs in, and hosts the game. So far, we haven't had any issues with corrupt saves or lost information.
If he is hosting and needs to quit, he saves, the xbox automatically syncs the save to the cloud and I download it to my xbox.
Just FYI, you need 512mb of hard drive space to use the cloud because your game is saved to your hard drive while you're playing, and then it uploads to the cloud later. It will show up in your active downloads screen and you have to enable background downloads to use it. Basically, when you save to the cloud, it actually saves it to your hard drive, after which you can shut down your xbox. It will then use background downloading feature to upload to the cloud, thereby synchronizing your save for later use.
I not only use my USB for backups, but I also use it to take my save off my xbox and send my friends my save data in an email, so they can play on MY world too. It is pretty much like world sharing... Just a lot slower.
I'll certainly be making backups next time I fire up the xbox. I haven't lost Minecraft data yet but I'm all too familiar with losing hours of work. I particularly don't want to lose the world I'm using as a building "playground" for testingg designs and ideas for use in other games.

Or, you could do it my way so you know your not saving a corrupt file to both devices...

Thanks for the detail.
The only flaw in your method I can see is that if you auto-sync with the cloud you could be automatically overwriting with a corrupt save file.
If this happened your freind's xbox would have the only relevent file left, provided he hasn't synced with the cloud and noticed it is corrupt already...
Also for anybody else who said "Thank you": Well, your welcome.
I'll have to remember to do this. I already afraid to "exit and save" because I had time lost doing that and game freezes. I usually save game then exit after. I didn't know it could corrupt when uploading the world also. Working on an epic hotel(which I may post a youtube of later), if I lost that I may throw my xbox out the window and myself with it.(jk about the window)

If it dies it will be your fault... SO CLICK IT!

Hard drives on the 360 are a maximum 130$ ;o
