Ok for all of you out their who have lost worlds to corrupt save files or who haven't yet and were unaware this could happen I am posting this to help you.
I have had the issue of my world freezing everytime before it fully loads, this is a current glitch that occurs basically whenever the game hates you. (sorry for all the technical mumbo jumbo there)
Fortunately for myself I had a backup save on a usb. YAY.... (I guess losing 8 hours of play is something to "YAY" about, but thats beside the point)
So ya anyway, what I'm getting at is for all you who do not already do so, do yourself a favor next time you start up your 360.
Here's what you need to do. (most of you will be aware of this)
1. Go to System Settings
2. Go to Storage
3. Go to Memory
4. Go to Games
5. Go to Minecraft
6. Go to copy
7. Select where you want to back up your save. (This can be to a USB Flash Drive, an External hard drive, or even the cloud.)
The cloud is free guys so you have no excuse! (Free if you have a gold membership... like im sure 99% of you do) Take the minute and a half each time you boot up your Xbox and you will be glad you did when your world you have invested hundreds of hours in gets the ole kiss-o-death.
Soo ya thanks for readin guys I'm KeeneyedJ and I hope I helped someone out. : D
you dont need cloud save thing to download minecraft at all. i got minecraft before i had gold on my acc
To use cloud storage for your saved games, you need:
An Xbox LIVE Gold Membership
got that right off the xbox site so therefore its not free
i havent had any porbs with minecraft so far and i dont wanna lose all my work iv done
Even right now I just posted this as a hyperlink in somebody's thread asking about why their world freezes everytime they try to load it..... It may not happen, but they again it may very well. Why take the risk you know. I'm just tryin to help people out and keep the clutter down on the forums about the whole " Y Mi Game nO WeRk!!!!?!?!" issue.
^^ "This" being a gold membership.... I thought you needed gold for DLC.
You do not need gold to purchase DLC if you are paying for it. You do need at least a silver account. That would be silly to not allow someone to purchase something because of them not wanting a gold experience. However if the download is free, silver members must wait a week before they can download said DL.
Great tip. I've never used the cloud, but after I started my Minecraft world on my hard drive and invested about 200 hours into it, I suddenly realized the beauty of the cloud - if my hard drive ever craps out, I wouldn't lose all my time and efforts and have to start my world over again.
Except I thought I was stuck, because I didn't see an easy way to transfer my game from the hard drive to the cloud.
Thanks a bunch, this could absolutely be a life saver (or a game saver anyway) someday!
This post is funny only Saving to cloud is currently bugged and causes most saves to become corrupt so you'll probally find Its the fact your using Cloud thats breaking your Saves
Needs confirmation but I guess saving my world to a USB memory stick is a better idea ultimately, will have to buy one and try it. Just want my world backed up somewhere!

...Except for the part where the cloud works fine and this can happen saving to any device..
(The issue occurs during the saving process. Saving to a remote server such as the cloud is the most likely to produce such a situation due to the upload/download nature of the device)

It's like having 512mb of global flash drive... pretty nice feature.
(Basically anywere there is internet and an Xbox you can acess it.)
Only good for save game files really.
Idk if you ever play BF3 but it's nice to keep your multiplayer save on that for example so you don't have to reset your classes on other xboxs.

Ya it def can't hurt... I'd rather take 2 mins a day than lose hundreds of hours worth of work to a bad save... :''''' (
