So, I've become slightly obsessed with quarrying the past few weeks, digging out my own 2 15x17 quarries to bedrock recently. (well, one of them is almost there)
What I want to know is:

What the heck do I do with a huge hole in the ground?

Is it worth it to start tunnel/strip/branch mining at y=12 or so?

What do I do with the $h*t-ton of cobblestone I have now? (awesome ideas, anyone?)

I have the imagination of any one of the blocks I mined digging the quarry-so I need ideas!

u should branch off and make mines also make a cobblestone dome

Make a perfect 40+ diameter sphere, you can see it from a distance and it looks sweet!! Took me for ever getting all the cobble though!!

Make a very large quarry from surface to bedrock, then turn it into a spleef arena.

-cover it with dirt/sand/snow/trees/cactus depending where you are to make it look like its not there. (or you could try to make your whole world look like swiss cheese)

-idk, strip mining is really boring but if you already like making huge holes in the ground it may not be that bad for you.

-whatever you want. Sculptures, houses, castles, stadiums, or whatever you can think of. You could always try to build a famous landmark or something. You could also hold on to that cobble and make stone bricks for better structures later.

Ya if your lookin for ideas for the hole make it into a circle and recreate the endless pit from "300"
(unless your not familiar with the film)

if your lookin for cobble stone building ideas perhaps a castle or a huge mob-grinder. (youtube mob grinder if not familiar)

But ya I'd make some chests too, take it from me i hollowed out a cubic area at bedrock 100,000+ blocks in volume, sooo I got some cobble too. : P

If it's really big you could keep it dark and go down and check for Slimes and such periodically

Build a giant skyscraper from the bedrock all the way to the limit. I also have two quarries I've been meaning to build out of but I keep getting side tracked with other projects.

Maybe I should do a hidden base. I could see it being useful as my dumb brother and is equally stupid friends (they're 12)
periodically destroy my world. (most recently they tore down my houses and built a huge penis in their place and burned my iron and few diamonds in lava ) Or an endless Sparta pit would be sweet too! >

How about a mob trap? Mobs in top, fall, dead!

I guess the mob trap part has already been working for me, because it continually rains pigs from the surface and I have at least have a chest of pork from them! I about crap myself from surprise and laughing when a pig just falls 1 block ahead of me and dies XD

I'll have to try a farm too. If only I could find some melon seeds -.-

Pumpkin seeds... cause I like the orange lamps they make.

And pistons, so the top could be closed with a really cool spiralling cover.

How do you get from the surface to the bottom of the quarry? Build a minecart track spiralling down the perimeter of the big hole. Drop some water at the edge and make a waterfall to the bottom that you can jump into and ride all the way down. Build some temporary ledges at various elevations and build some glass and glowstone sculptures, then pickaxe the ledges away and leave em hanging in the middle.

Make it a Bio-.....thing.......

Do what I've done with mine. Pick a side and start a strip mining or if you duplicate TNT make a long minecart tunnel, mine is halfway around the border of the map. Got TONS of iron and diamonds making the tunnel and 4 dungeons. And put water 3 blocks deep so you can just jump straight down.

for starters, put glass over top. make some mining turtles and have them mine @ lvl 12. (type /tunnel and then the # of block long u want it.

or if its in a slime chunk, then make a slime farm
