i looted the chest's and got coco beans and bread iron igot and what not but what do i do witht eh spawner

You can make a mob grinder, that way you'll get a ton of arrows.

Make sure you get that mossy cobblestone, and destroy the spawner

well i ended up dieing and loosing the moss stone and all the iron had like 80

If you ever find it again, you should use it to make an arena.

I've done that, it's very entertaining.

That could be more fun! It's definitely going to be on my to-do list once gears and pistons come into the game and such!

It can be easily done without pistons now.

(Also, gears don't exist in Minecraft)

You can:

A. Destroy the Spawner
B. Place torches all around the spawner so Mobs down spawn on it
C. Make the dungeon a base camp
D. Get a mob trap going.

^^I like this. (got 12 spawners and it is pointless making so many grinders..)

EDIT: oh ya just remembering about the zombie spawner right below spawn area... muhahaha

^^ when this update comes out im pretty sure you will need to begin a new world for such additions to be added to the game.. I could be wrong though. It is a basic way or getting mob drops or leaderboard boosting for now though.

You shouldn't need to start a new world for things like XP, pistons, shears, etc, etc.

You should only have to start a new world if you want new terrain.
