Its a bit of a hassle to have to add a complete stranger, invite them to a party, and then play with them over Xbox Live on Minecraft.
Would it be a good idea for 4jstudios to release a list of non invite only, online servers that we could easily join, rather than going on the forums and constantly checking for anyone who wants to play?
In order for them to do this, other things would need to be added first. Things like server commands, or some form of them, would need to be added to counter griefers.
Other than that, it would be kinda cool. I don't play with random people. I have enough frinds that have the game that we always have a full 8 person game. Right now though, their main focus is the updates. Once they get close to being caught up to the Pc, that is when they will start to work on thigns like this. If they want to of course.

Well, by pressing on the button to the left of the large X on your controller, you can kick offensive people from a server already.
But what is to stop them from coming back? Are you going to maintain a constant watch of who is in the game to make sure that person doesn't return?
What if someone steals all of your stuff? You can't just kick him then otherwise all of your things are gone.
I think you're taking this to a bit of an extreme, first of all, there are only up to 4 players possible in one game, second, I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard for them to code an option in the game that permanently boots them for the rest of the current session. I think server commands are a bit much. think of it being like the session list in something like UNO. just brings up a list of games that aren't full yet and you can pick from there. Simple as that.

Certain things like choosing who can build and who can't should be implemented into the game if public games become available. That's just my opinion though.
I have experience with griefers and just general assholes on the PC version. Things like building rights are a must in my opinion if games go public.

That sounds like a great idea. It could be as simple as anybody who joins your game starts with just a visitors pass and then if you wish to allow them to work in your world you can give them a builders permit. It could be done from the same menu you use to kick people.

The reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
yeah new players to your world should be labeled as guests/visitors and ony be able to look around and NOT take stuff from chests or break/place blocks. then if you approve them they get full access to building.
Yea i also agree having a permissions list i think that the list would actually be helpful and pretty useful if the game actually does go public yknow?

I am actually surprised that 4Jstudios didn't add a ban option to the moderation controls of the game.
so yeah I agree with the permissions idea.
