A SLIME A slime is an animate, green, gelatinous, hopping, and relatively rare mob in the shape of an ordinary cube that can appear in various sizes. They will follow and attack a player who comes close enough. They are able to see the player through solid blocks. When killed, a slime will split into smaller slimes, except for the smallest slime which will drop slimeballs instead. Slimes are found only in the lowest 16 layers of the map, and only in certain areas. Slimes can spawn in a flatland because world generation level is 3 blocks abovebedrock. Thank you wiki
This is my mine, its 6 blocks high, 30 blocks across and about 60-100 blocks long, It took my 3-4 days to mine this, use dynamite...Its easier I should have done it, I have spawned 2 big slime in the past day, and every two to three minecraft days is when it will spawn, if you have questions be sure to put them in a reply below, THANKS
If you make a room big enough, loads will spawn. its already well known, way back from the implementation of slimes. Pretty pointless IMO
EDIT: Also, don't quote from the wiki, its the least credible source for minecraft mechanics information, with the most errors by far; its open to public editing...
Don't be hatin' on the wiki. There is a lot of good info there for new players. The biggest problem now is people reading the wiki, which is for the most current pc version, and thinking some of that stuff applies to MCXBE
I think I'll do this. I'm too lazy to dupe TNT... So I'll mine it all... Yay...
The reward for mining it all is all the materials you will have to build things with topside. I am actually hoarding cobble right now waiting for stone bricks, my favorite block of all time.
I have always wondered about slimes. I am new to Minecraft (never played until MC360), and the wiki mentioned slimes spawned. Since the game came out, I have created three worlds and never saw a slime spawn. Does the slime they drop have a purpose in the current 360 version?

Zombie, Skeleton, Spider, Slime, Pigmen, Ghast, or Creeper... which is your favorite and which is your least favorite?

Currently? No. But in the next update the slimeballs will be used for "Sticky Pistons" Which I have very little knowledge about. (New to Minecraft as well)
I myself have seen 3 slimes (also in my mine) and I used an iron sword. I killed all three with a 1-hit, and they dropped nothing. Someone told me that if you use a weapon that damages more hearts than the slime actually has, it drops nothing. I'm not sure how true this is, but for safety, just punch slimes.
He forgot to add "Slimes are capable of spawining in any light level, however, slimes have lowest priority of all hostile mobs for a chance to spawn." So lighting up any area's will increase the chance of spawning IF your in a slime chunk.
im new to minecraft and i was wondering, how big is 1 chunk cause i am planing to get sticky pistons when they come out and i want to have the supplies ready
Slimes drop slime balls, and since they are a hostile mob they do not spawn on peaceful. However from personal expiereince, if you save and exit near a slime, then return in peaceful mode, those slimes will remain, but more will not spawn.
