I couldn't see anything about this issue in the bug thread, so...
Basicly this is my second world that has freezing tantrums. The first world would freeze on the "initializing server" screen. This one is different.
My house is located at the dead center of the map, directly on the spawn. When people join my world they spawn on the roof of my house. Now, If i was looking at the in-game map & the top of the map was north, bottom was south, ect, when i walk in a westerly direction from my house the game will freeze, roughly 30-50 blocks from my house.
I can walk in a north/east/south direction & the game will NOT freeze. In fact, If I stay completely away from this area, west of my house, I can play for hours on end without the game freezing.
I've re-downloaded the game & cleared the system cache & the problem still persists. A google search brings up nothing either.
Has anyone had this problem, or heard of it?
4J*forgot their names*, could you guys provide an answer, or help?
what i would do is dig a trench surrounding the area of freeze. say if its only a 30x30 block area west of your house it would be easy to see then. Then u can post a screenshot if anyting is in the area. So i would walk around the area if possible to do this and even dig under it and place blocks above it to see how big of an area is effected.
I really hope this upcoming bug patch fixes the problem. If not, then I won't be playing Minecraft again until 1.8 or higher.
I just don't see the point in spending countless hours on a world, just to throw it into the trash bin.
I was hoping to keep this world, even though it won't have Clay, or any of the new features that the updates bring.

What a joke.
Had it been freezing from the creation of the world or did it just randomly start up? I know if my world did that I would be quite mad and not play until 1.8 or even later like you said if it was not fixed. I have no idea what could cause such a strange thing.

Hmm, i might give this a try just to see how large the area actualy is. Right now i can tell you that it is over 10 chunks squared. Maybe more.
Agh, how did I know a stupid answer(for the lack of a better word) like this would present itself. It was only a matter of time a guess.
It is not as simple as "don't walk in that direction". I did not spend 75+ hours on this world to simply stear clear of a certain area & have it not be used.
& i certainly didn't spend 1600msp to do that either.
Simple answer: In future, If you don't have anything helpful to say, don't say it.

It only just started yesterday, 75+ hours into the world.
I had just finished laying down the Cobble for my outer skyrail that is 898x898. It follows the edge of the map. Well, 63 blocks from the edge.
Saved the game & exited without saving, backed up my save to a memory card & cloud storage. When I returned to it an hour later, it froze when I went to walk back to continue my skyrail.
What happens if you walk, say, all the way south then head west? Is it the entire west of the map or just a particular area? Sounds like the game is failing to generate a chunk properly and just crashing.
Yeah, it's only a large part that is freezing. I can circle around the sides of the area if I travel south or east. But I cannot get behind the affected area as it seems it extends all the way to the edge of the map.
They're not. They're less than 900 blocks squared, people have counted them.
Well, if the worlds are indeed 864x864 then the track would be 738x738. When MCX360 was released people were saying the maps were 1024x1024, & thats what I was going off.
Yeah, people were going off the size of the in-game map, which on the PC version is 1024x1024, it's a bit smaller than that on xbox. :/ Your issue is very strange though. Have you had any crashes when saving or anything?
No, not as of lately. I do get a few freezes when I exit the game without saving, but they are few & far between

My thoughts exactly.

BOOM
The worlds are 1024x1024, or 1000x1000.
