I dont think that whole thing is working like they intended.
For now just click invite only.
I havent been "raped" yet but I do some times sleep with my game running so others can play.And yes I have started clicking invite after reading some of the nightmare storys.

I always have had it set to invite only in fear of griefers. 2 days ago my brother was boat griefed by one of his friend's friends. Since then he has had it set to invite only.
If you want to keep your world open to join (i always do), then anyone unfamiliar to you save the game right away, so then what ever you and your friends were doing can be saved without fear of who ever's friend does.
Player A has his world open for friends to join. Player B joins Player A's world. Player C is a Friend of Player B. When starting Minecraft, on the right he can see that Player B is in a join-able game and is able to join in Player A's game because Player B is playing.
We need an option of only friends list people not friends of friends to join.
