ive been watching videos on how to do it,ive made the one with a chest and you have to break the sand on top but it takes forever to work,does anyone no how to do the button one?
You're wanting to make one of the sand/gravel torch things?
Just build upward from a torch and wash it away with water using the water block update trick - put a water source block within 5 blocks of a hole in the ground. Fill the hole in - the water should not move. On an update triggered by redstone the water should move away from the hole you filled in.

Water source block update -> washes away torches -> sand falls.
do i have to wait for an update to do this?
