I was just thinking of this the other day, which button would sprinting be? In the PC version, double tapping forward makes you sprint, that would be pretty awkward to control on a 360 controller.
So, which button would be for sprinting?
-LB and RB are used for swapping through inventory items
-LT and RT are used for placing and digging blocks
-The analog stick buttons are used for crouching and switching perspectives
-I don't think that the D-pads are used for anything, but I think that'd be awkward to control for sprinting.
What they should do is switch the left analog stick button for sprinting and use the D-pad to change camera perspectives. Only if the D-pad isn't used for anything already.
There is another thread exactly like this a few days ago, but anyways, I would like the left thumbstick to be utilized for this because that is what I am used to. The 3rd person view could be controlled by the d-pad.
Let us completely remap the controller like skyrim. Then they wont have to worry about control schemes and every one is happy. There is no excuse for any game that does not do this.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing to myself the other day. I believe they should move the camera perspectives to the D-Pad as you suggested and use the left analog stick for sprint as well.

becuase i'd preffer punching sheep for wool rather than having to mine for iron ore to make shears.
You can still punch them to death. But yea I understand what you mean, everytime me or friends start getting wool I yell "make them naked with your fists!"
I hate resurrecting old topics, but this one really interest me. Along with making the sprint LB3, and switching the button for camera angles. I think there may be more potential with camera angles if the back button was used to switch camera modes or if there were a free moving camera mode that can be selected using the start menu. Mostly the control stick camera is annoying to me. I may be running from a creeper when I click nLB3 and change my camera angle all of a sudden. This button for most games is a sprint button, and Im used to clicking it when I want to run. Anyways there are times when changing the camera angle is useful; mainly for screenshots.
But why stop at just front and back views? Why not add a free range camera mode which lets you rotate the camera around the character like they did back in the N64 days. This mode wouldn't be enabled all the time, you would most likely enable it in the start menu and go from there. Maybe in this mode disable the inventory/crafting buttons and make them into zoom in/out. To prevent cheating you could make it so the camera can't go through blocks and maybe auto zoom in when its obstucted(can't see the player). I believe this could give us some incredible screenshots, not to mention more freedom for the few people capable of recording videos from xbox.
In my opinion the LB3 camera button was a fault in the control scheme and I hope they do change it to the D-Pad. On top of that I would like to see a free range camera mode, but I can live without it.

Why do you say at the cost of shears?
