first thing i did in the game was make a big pyramid in the middle of the map with all my excess cobblestone from mining.
then it became my base, i hollowed it out and my trains run to the corners of our huge (ahem) world.
But it's all cobblestone and it's boring and ugly inside. So after I read your post I tried doing a lava floor, but it didn't work out so well (I see what you mean about still, flat lava, I didn't have success in my initial try at it.
I didn't want to save it and fell in the lava and died. LOL Ended up just using all sandstone for the floor, and since I've collected about 8 stacks of white wool from punching sheep I think I'm just gonna use white for the ceiling. Really brightens the place up. Not like lava... but I just think it looks kinda funny with a full block of glass above it. Wish they had glass slabs and you could do the floor blocks as bottom half lava, top half glass. But I really like the change to a sandstone floor.
Its impossible to make a infinite lava source as lava does not flow fast enough as water does. to make stop moving feel in the spots that is moving above the spot.
It's possible to make "infinite" lava but a little bit of a chore. Basically dig a single square hole, have a row of buckets in your quick bar, the left most of which is filled with lava, then empty the lava bucket into the hole and quickly alternate between pressing RB and LT to switch to the next bucket and mine the lava. The 360 gets confused and you should be able to fill like 4 or 5 buckets from a single bucket of lava. Repeat as necessary.

I've seen this glitch on my Xbox. When you go to place the lava all of the glitched buckets will suddenly become empty.

first i cannot make the infinite supply of lava pool and i cant seem to easily make the lava on the floor to be still instead of flowing. suggestions?
view of pyramid from my balcony
but i unfortunatley dont know about the lava :/wait a sec....209 sand?
Probably the dupe glitch.
yeah i had to do the dupe glitch. ridiculous amount of sandstone was needed for this.
