I uploaded a video on how to farm for slimeballs. Read here in the forum they where rare and just wanted show people they are not all that rare. they are just not looking in the right spot the right way.

Nope pretty simple, just dig to bedrock make a 3 high block square how ever big you want it to be, feel it with light an wait.

Definitely not true.
Slimes only spawn in certain chunks, so you would have to be pretty lucky just doing what you said.

Watch the video. I have found them on two seperate maps doing my way. I bet I spawn new map and find them rightaway

I must get lucky all the time then because thats exactly what i do when im hunting slimes. & you might want to fix the video because it doesn't allow anyone to watch it

If you have no problem finding them the post wasnt for you. I posted this after reading another post stating they where rare. I never thought they where.

I had pretty good success by branch mining at layer 10 for diamonds. Once the mine got to be a good size, a couple of slimes started showing up. I would mark where they were found and would come back and clear out large areas (24x24 - 32x32) just to make sure that I had completely uncovered the slime chunk.
