So needing some black carpet for my new art gallery (yes, I have an art gallery in my castle, showing you how out of hand Im getting with this OCD/Minecraft thing). Black sheep are relatively rare, so I go hunting under the sea for the squid.
Naturally, swimming being as clunky as it is in this game, plus how dark the deeper depths get, I'm finding it very hard to find my quarry and then slash them, especially with the air bubbles disappearing.
So I tried a trick last night. I brought along some empty buckets. Sure enough, when I was low on air I just scooped up a new bucket in front of my face and I snatched a fresh breath. Awesome! I have a SCUBA system!
So I thought.
I started to take damage a few seconds later, which continued until I either surfaced or took four hearts of damage.
- Squid spawn in any water. If you have a nearby desert, sky platform or area relatively far away from other sources of water you can force them to spawn in a specific location. Just make a 1 block deep swimming pool at least 128 blocks away from other sources of water and you'll have a squid pond.
- If you want to stick to hunting under the sea, you can use glowstone lamps under water.

Anyone else have a similar experience?
