I understand Endermans are coming soon. So, can they just steal blocks? Like start dismantling your castle?
I have mixed emotions about this. On one hand, that's another pain in the butt I'm gonna have to deal with to keep my home base in tip top shape.
On the other hand, I have to admit this, like the Creepers, is a pretty clever twist... these monsters are not to be feared really insofar as the damage they do to you (although they sure can pack a wallop), but in the respect to damaging what you build, which is more important in this game.
It will be interesting to see if we get the "old" Endermen or "new" Endermen.
"Old" Endermen commit suicide in water including rain, but they can pick up any block (including obsidian) and once they pick it up.... it's gone. They don't drop it when they die. It's just gone.
"New" Endermen can't pick up stone (half stone, cobble stone, any stone, I think) and they just teleport away if water touches them.

Hmmm Interesting, I started playing at 1.8, I never knew the could pick up anything. If we get old enderman I guess all my houses will be underground with 2 high ceilings lol.
They'd have to avoid this in 360 version I'd guess, with resources being limited.
They'll have creative in the next update, I think, so really the resource restriction isn't an issue. It's more of an enhancement.
One of the more fun things about the adventure update is actually surviving. If you want to design specifically with an intent and Endermen start stealing bits of it..... that's going to make you rethink your general strategy. It's refreshing.

Creative mode is not in the next update. The next update is 1.7.3 and Creative was included in 1.8.
At the OP, there are plenty of ways to stop Enderman from taking blocks. Putting a water moat, since water is fatal to Enderman, is a great way to keep them away from your house. It's not hard and people who complain about them take it way out of proportion. They steal maybe one block every few minecraft days. They don't completely strip your house down in a matter of minutes.

We could go check the 4J posts, I suppose. They said they were interested in backporting features sooner than the PC version they appear in but didn't name any specific features or time frames. I was pretty sure they said the very next version would include creative (an example of a feature backport). Not sure, I guess.

Again, we'll have to see if we get new or old Endermen. Old Endermen will suicide in the water, but new ones will teleport up to 32 blocks in any direction - including possibly inside of your 3 block tall house. There are better ways than just a water moat for both Enderman versions.
PS - you can quote just sentences or important parts of the previous post, you know. The whole post isn't necessary. There's a link you can use to refer to the old post at the top left if you want the full context.

We have actually brought a few changes forward from 1.8, but nothing to do with items or tiles or world generation. Just things that make the game run a bit better.
We will also be adding some Xbox specific changes with each update. Skins is our first priority.
Doesn't sound like there will be creative to me. The only thing they've said they have brought forward early was smooth lighting from 1.8 and a few other behind the scenes improvements to make the game run smoother.

Quoting something that doesn't have any relevance to creative mode at all is really pointless. :\

Heh, I was making a joke, which failed miserably, apparently. Damn they ARE good. I could go for one now.
Since Beta 1.9 Pre-release 2, Endermen can only pick up the following blocks: [2]
Grass Block
Dirt
Mycelium
Sand
Gravel
Clay
Dandelion
Rose
Brown Mushroom
Red Mushroom Cactus
Pumpkin
Melon TNT
Endermen cannot pick up entities, such as Boats, Minecarts, primed TNT, and mobs.
Edit: Fixed, post went all crazy with the icons lol

So ya, I made a mistake. The most recent news is it isn't coming until 1.8.2.
