Hey guys, I was just wondering what the main differences are between Xbox and PC? Would you say it's just a downgraded PC version with better multi, or is it a whole new game?
The differences are the controls and crafting interface are changed to be easily understandable. Also XBOX has a PC version from the past (Beta 1.6.6). The current PC version has moved out of Beta and is now a full title in version 1.2.5.
Also as you said, the multiplayer is a bit better. The other draw is worlds are much smaller.
Surprisingly, there is very little different between the Xbox version and old 1.6.6. You get nearly the same experience from 1.6.6 improved with Xbox specific features and a better framerate with less "fiddling". Plus the crafting interface is nice.
As an example, on the console I can link up with friends pretty instantly with a good experience and the Xbox party system. Invites are easy and setting up a server is as easy as turning on the console. The game runs at 60fps with a fixed set of graphics parameters so it looks the same for everyone.
On the PC on a bad day..... well, one of my friends is lagging, the other wants to use Skype instead of gTalk, another refuses to get on the headset, Java has gone batty and is eating all the RAM on my PC, the host didn't set up dynes or anything so we have to keep changing the IP..... it can be a mess.
its the same as the PC Beta 1.6 was.
The PC version has moved on a long long way since then and theres so much added, it would take me 10 mins to list it all.
Why not google the Minecraft wiki page and look at what's come to the pc version since Beta 1.6?
Thanks, I didn't know about the wiki.
So, the Xbox version is a port, right?

This thread bores me.
