Ok. Sorry if this post is long, but it needs to be here IMO.
I do like the MC360 Ed., but the members it brings can be annoying. Ever since it came out, i see so many people saying stuff like, "T3chn1c P4ck pL0X0Rz", or, "M0Dz Pl34s3". I don't hate the member's, i hate their actions. It annoying everyday to get on the forums and see like 5 new members EVERY DAY saying, "Bring Mods!" "Help, I cant find a nether fortress!" "I cant breed animals, fix this!". Please people! Do your research before coming to the forums and complaining. Before you post, don't leave any hate messages. I'm sure all of you people who also have been here a while and played Minecraft for long enough will see how frustrating and annoying this actually is.
I believe the problem is that for the game itself, there is no "official" source of information for the new players. The wiki does have all thee info, but doesn't differentiate between what Xbox has and what PC has. Forums are a good source for this, and searching them will probably bring an answers. Yet the newbies overlook the search button and post there simple questions as a thread, because they don't know. Just keep reminding 'em about it, and hopefully others will see.

In addition to the comments above, people will tend to do what is the easiest. And it is easier for people to just ask then it is to do the work of searching.
i "used to" get pissed when people would ask questions that the answer is a 3 second google click away - but then it got so prevasive, i just realized it was a generation gap - im 38, we didnt have the internet when i was a youngn', so we had to crack a book - now i crack a link - some people just want their stuff NOW. no reason to get mad, there is so much stuff they will be mssing out with their intelectual incuriosity
i hope a throrough 360 wiki will be availiable soon - i have been playing the 360 edition since 3rd day it was out - and the game has taught me alot - but reading the forums here was a great help. the game doesnt hold your hand too much as far as how to create a roof or what is and isnt possible in regard to animal husbandry.

There are pages that, over time, have started to include special information regarding the 360 version. For an example, find the wiki page on 'Lava' and see the special notes regarding the 360. You can also contribute to the wiki yourself to help differentiate features.....
Other than that, I can see how it's a bit less than intuitive for your average player to just *know* they're on 1.6.6 and there are no Nether fortresses - you could say the first page of minecraftwiki/forums, but you bypass that through search results from Google. So, really, what's the point in placing blame for honest mistakes? Although, probably 60% of the threads are probably not mistakes and just random forum posts without checking anything.....
I couldn't have said it bettter myself. I don't understand why people can't calm down and take about minute to look at other things people post on here before they start going crazy about something. It erks me too but I try to not let something like that bother me. What really does bother me is people posting just stating how much the games sucks because it isn't being updated every day. We've had the game a couple of weeks and you are already tired of it? Sounds like a few minor updates won't satisfy anything if you can get tired of a awesome game such as Minecraft after a couple of weeks.
Simple research and a good background of how everything works helped me avoid a bunch of questions. But, most people, sadly, do not do this. You can't tell people to do so. They want a simple quick answer. And this is were they think they will get it.
I myself have had experience from the PC version of Minecraft so I know what is going on with updates and such. Background knowledge is such a great thing. Knowing how to research is also a great aspect people could learn...
I think part of the problem is that this forum should be for xbox players helping and commenting with other xbox players only. It's flooded with PC guys saying that they 'need" their favorite (PC) texture pack, skin, or mod, when's it gonna be like the PC version, what's wrong with it (compared to the PC version), bitching about the world size, etc.
None of that helps the xbox user, especially the new ones, when they come here for help and information.
The best thing that could happen to this forum is for the PC guys to quit talking about and comparing it to the PC version. They've got plenty of other forums to discuss PC things in.

You know that a lot of us are on both platforms, right? And where are you going to get all the clever little tech from if you ignore the PC heritage of the game? What an ignorant thing to say.
Besides, I'm pretty sure most of the people begging for mods and texture packs just Googled MineCraft for the first time and randomly picked stuff they saw was popular to gripe about. Or maybe they watched their friend play, or a youtube video from the PC version.... either way, it's probably not the "PC guys" demanding texture packs - we already has them.
