My track was about 480 blocks, 12 blocks left then about 30 blocks straight on again. Achievement popped up.
Now working on my edge of the world track, with each side 862 blocks
That's what I'm working on now...a rapid transit system that runs the perimeter of the world.
My problem is the achievement itself. I'm well over 500 blocks away from the starting point and the achievement still won't pop. Anybody have any ideas?
Read the ahievement ,it has to be obtained on a 500 block straigh line track otherwise it wont work ,add my gamertag and ill invite you to my map to get the achievement
That's what I was wondering. Everyone was talking about turns and bends, but that wasn't how I thought it would work...especially since my track now runs about 700-800 blocks with a turn and it wouldn't pop.
The track doesn't have to be straight but as the achievment states you have to end up "at least 500m in a single direction from where you started." Meaning you have to have traveled 500 blocks North, South, East or West from your start block. I don't believe it counts diagonals.
So if you travel 250 blocks North then 250 blocks West, you are not 500 blocks in one direction from your start point. You're halfway there in two directions. The hardest part of this one is getting the materials...and making sure you have room to make it. I reached the end of the map and realized I'd have to move the start of my track back like 200 blocks.

You do not have to be in a straight line. I got mine easily with about 50 turns. However, you all just simply need to read the achievement. It doesn't have to be 500 blocks long, just 500 blocks away from where you end. So mathematically, it is most effecient to do it in a straight line, but you can have it with as many turns as you want.
