I just spent a few hours working on a mob trap that is only producing like 3 items every 10 minuets if anyone knows allot about them that could give me a hand i would really appreciate it. My gamer tag is livednoname2010.
The reason why captinsparklez was so efficient was due to the face he was high enough off the ground that no mobs could spawn on the surface or in caves, they were only limited to spawning in that trap. Go and try lighting up any caves in the area.
if your mob trap is made with no mob spawner make sure your are closer enough to ur trap so that they spawn and you have to stay close enough so that they don't despwan

You may be too close for them to spawn. I find if I stand under it (I made a glass floor to watch them die ) they don't spawn as frequently. Also make the ceiling out of half slabs (mobs can't spawn on these) and put signs all around your spawn pads(mobs think its a full block and fall right off). I have my grinder built 24 in the sky and about 20 blocks from my house, I go do my gardening, cut down and plant some trees, come back and a bunch of goodies await for me.
