I think it would be awesome if they officially added new mobs to the game.
I have made a list of mobs I'd like them to add, or just general interesting ideas of mobs to me.
Enemies:
"Serial Killer" (One that roams the world and if he does see you, he follows you, with an attempt to stab you to death or just kill you) He can't get in your house unless you have a wooden door.
"Ghost" Dead players who have been killed by another player, their ghosts come back and roam around, though they only attack when provoked.
Friendly:
"Pokemon!" I know this is already a mod, but I'd like to see it in there officially.

Yes, I like that ghost idea!
Would deff be hilarious for your friend to move out of his house because your dead ghost haunted the area.
I would think ghosts only appear for so long, then disappear.

I would like to see a freddy krueger type character... When you go to (since sleeping is a big thing) sleep, you would have a random chance to go into a dream, a texture pack could be applied to show your exact world but in a different texture to signify a dream-like state. If you kill freddy then maybe get a special music disc or armor or something cool. Make him hard so you can't beat him the first time, making it a challenge and very random.
You could add bears in caves. Maybe some predatory birds in the sky like falcons (some you could catch and keep like dogs?). Encampments of bandits wouldnt bee too bad either.

So many people have already brought up adding new mobs. You could have easily used one of their thredas to post in instead of making another redundant topic.
1) I highly doubt something called a Serial Killer would be added to a game played by so many young children. It also just sounds like a bad mob idea period.
2)Ghost are really just blah. I consider Ghasts to be the Minecraft Ghosts.
3) The pokemon idea is just no. It would never be official. It is trademarked by Nintendo meaning that Mojang, Microsoft, and 4J Studious would need to get persmission. And they're pokemon. If I want to play with Pokemon, I'll fire up my gameboy, not Minecraft. Just no.

Encampments of bandits would be awesome. Just like villagers, only, hostile, and a new distinguishing look to themselves and their camps of course.

I agree with that statement... I believe it would add a lot more life to the game, even though birds are just a little thing.
I'd like to see fish and sea coral actually.
It would make swimming a lot more interesting than just looking at some squid.
These both seem like a cool idea.
