This isn't a bed issue first of all. But sometimes when me or my friend return to our home, we are greeted by a skeleton or even a creeper! They always spawn in the same room, the living room. The first time it happened we put torches and/or glowstone everywhere. Just now a creeper was in our house and almost destroyed our work.

Why is this happening? They just spawn in the livingroom it seems. It's EXTREMELY well lit. Help?

Could a mob spawner under your house cause this?

Dig down, there MIGHT be a spawner down there.

Is your inside too high? Like 8+? Or mob spawned below

If everything in the room is lit then they can't be spawning there. It can't be a spawner either because I'm pretty sure the spawner could only be 1 below the floor you placed. And it was a Creeper anyway.

They would had to have spawned in another room and found their way into the living room. Or there's a hole in your house somewhere you don't know about.

I built an elaborate apartment building. There was a gap of 4 blocks between floors and unlit. Sure enough I had a monster infestation till I opened them up, lit them up and resealed them. I also put doors on the balconies. Since doing that, I have it secure.

I think if you have a one block gap between a lit space and a floor, spawning can sometimes still occur. Not often, but when you least expect it.

It seems that sometimes when you reload the chunk your house is in then mobs could spawn in the house... Even if it is well lit. I have never seen mobs spawn in a house I'm in, only ones that are far away from.

Happening to me too. I've seen them spawn on the roof of my keep. It's about 24 blocks up. Built a basement and it's well lit. They spawn there. They spawn in the look out towers too and one of them doesn't even have a staircase yet. Created a mote of turbulent water around the whole thing and it's still doing it. Tic's me off when it's a creeper. This keep is 4 levels tall in all and extremely well lit. This has to be a bug.Oh not to count the a portion of the keep over hangs the water.

Ive heard of mobs spawning in areas where it's just dim enough, even if it's just two blocks, but if it's all well lit I suppose they could be spawning when the world block spawns if you're returning home at night. I cant say I've had mobs spawn in my house unless it's poorly lit or open somewhere

Mobs spawn in packs. When the game picks a block to spawn something on, it checks the light level. If it is low enough in that one spot, then mobs will spawn in groups of up to four. They do not spawn on exactly that spot. If it is totally dark outside your house, and the walls are only one block thick, it is possible that one of the four shows up inside your house.

mob spawner or open door?

It almost never happens to me, but just to be sure I always do a game save and THEN go to sleep. Not the reverse. This way if I'm attacked during the night somehow I just reload the save game and try to figure out what's going on. I have an elevated rail network which runs in and out of all my homes so I have openings that I'm always a bit cautious about even tho good block placement and fences keeps all them nasty mobs at bay. Save, then sleep.

In the up coming patch, they say they are fixing where enemies will stop spawning where they should not.
Maybe this has something to do with it.

I almost laughed but then I realized how overused that meme is.

I was having a problem when I went to sleep. Got rid of my double door in my room and now I sleep like a baby. Maybe try to rid your house of the double doors if you have any. Good Luck
