Yes, yes I know that it has been said over and over again, all over the place that mods will not be allowed, but then again mods are single player. What I am curious about is official plugins, supported by 4J, and coding made by 4J.
Does anyone believe this is a possibility?
because then techincally they arent actually mods to the game, they would be endorsed plugins for modifying game-play for the entertainment of the consumer.
yay technical babble!

Jyggalag's forces are gathering in the Fringe...And I HATE IT when people gather forces in my Fringe!
If there are going to be mods, my bet is they will just be made by 4J and sold as DLC for money.
They will probably look at the most popular mods on the PC, make their own version of it, and put it out for money.
that is a pleasingly displeasing answer hate to have to pay for plugins/mods but at least its legal and im not stuck with vanilla craft(love vanillacraft but its nice to have options for when things get repetitive)

That is unfortunately the only way I can see them getting around Microsoft extremely hard stance against 3rd party software/content. I doubt Microsoft would allow random peopels mods on their console.
ah well, thanks for the opinion, cant wait to see what other people believe, always fun to get opinions on all of this kind of stuff, plus it puts ideas in 4Js heads in case they decide to patrol the forums(which they apparently do every once in a while)

OR there won't be "mods" as you know them. 4J could just make them part of the "exclusive content" that's been rumored and include them in the game as part of the regular upgrades.
Either way:
1) get the idea of those "PC" mods out of your head ("I want them to add the ________ mod!"). Xbox "mods" will be completely different (IF they add them at all).
2) They'll never be any 3rd party mods.

i like what you said but try to word it better, comes across as a bit rude. no worries though

There Will be mods,in fact, there already are a couple of mods(texture pack mod, etc.)but they're only available for jtag'd consoles (google it)and that means that if you go online you'll get banned! But of course you can just get a pirated copy of MC.

Well what about it? Seems like an OK idea to me, what's wrong with it?
