I want to know how to make a seed and flower farm. I know you need redstone torches, and bonemeal and redstone wire underneath the grass.. ? but I don't know how to go about this.

There is a design for this farm, but it isn't automatic. You make a BUD switch in a 3x3 room, and hook it up to pistons that lift the floor. Then, stand over it and bonemeal the middle. It should automatically harvest the seeds/flowers.

You dont need it to be dark if you want tall grass and flowers to appear. Just need to bonemeal dirt. As to the topic are you looking for it to be automatic, that may help with getting an answer, also if it needs pistons then you probably can't do it.
I usually just bonemeal the ground, then use a bucket of water to clear the area and repeat, i have the water set up so it push's all the seeds and flowers to a single point.
You don't need redstone. just make a dirt hut thats completely dark inside and use bonemeal in the center. The flowers and seeds just pop out the ground.
