I've recently noticed that people, probably kids, copy post after post in the Find Players subsection forums.
First it was Hunger Gamers
Then I saw a trend of RPG servers
Then I saw one guy post "Survival on Hard", then saw a few others copy but with "Easy" or "Normal"
Then I see people creating numerous cities and villages and needing citizens.
Noting that the Hunger Games and City type servers have been excessively over done, as in, to many people copying to many people
Now don't get me wrong here, but this does get repetitive and annoying.
Again, don't get me wrong here, but aren't children suppose to be super creative and imaginative?
In other words, GET YOUR OWN IDEAS
not one of your.....original ideas are very original are they.....build a castle? really? i dont get this op....for these "kids"....everything is new to them until they do it once....so let them do it
Honestly, It is not hard to think up of a hundred different ideas.
1. Build a castle
2. Build some space ships
3. Build a city
4. Build a city in the sky
5. Build a city in space
6. Build some mega builds - Houses, Vehicles, ect..
5. Build a Roman Empire
6. Build an under ground city
7. Build an under ground castle
8. Build a theme park
9. Build some battle ships with an aircraft carrier ect
10. Build some 1 for 1 scales of real famous structers
11. Build an under water city in a dome or something
or Just go out of control and think of something else up..
People learn from others by looking at what can be achieved and trying it for themselves. I look at YouTube tutorials for resdstone devices so I can learn the mechanics of the game and building my overall knowledge so I am able to undertake my own contraptions. Being a community driven title, you jaded guys (OP & JDawgMillenium) are the ones giving a poor representation to newcomers... YOU sicken me...

As for your comment regarding JDawgMillenium "getting you", is a poor attempt to reach out to literally anyone who isn't telling you to grow up.and stop stressing the small stuff. He makes a completely different point to your original post but for some reason, thinks he is relating too. Perhaps you were both meant to make minecraft history... perhaps not.
I essentially restated the same points the Op said with a more dramatic tone.
Copying the "desecrated" indirectly pays homage if anything, to their work. Clearly it inspires people and hopefully people will learn to credit where it's due.
This is addressed to those who do steal credit. Stop mentioning the friendly people who add on to the ideas and branch out in a different direction. Those people are ones who do what they want wisely and still not be dicks in the process(on the Internet; you can't assume the position of that person).
In the meantime they should feel proud that so many want to copy their work. Also it would help to drop the elitist attitudes. This is supposed to be a community after_all.
Having your work be copied while thousands of others take responsibility < create a good idea, have at least one person to respect you for your work, and that person(s) branch(es) out in a new direction, living on the dream

Not getting your work stolen isn't being an elitist. Could you imagine Mojang's idea of Minecraft being ripped off completely(from the start), and a different company does the exact same thing? The crew gets no profits, and they have to shut down immediately. Meanwhile, the copycat company is not doing anything for their "Digbuild," staying at the Alpha version for years until finally they make the game exactly like Skyrim. While Mojang and Bethesda try to say that Wearedicks Co(pycat). took that idea completely, you will be standing outside their headquarters and yelling,"ELITISTS!! THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A COMMUNITY AFTER ALL!!"
my god, all this anger and hatred for a few people posting similar topics. so 2 people build a castle. so freaking what.
grow up kids. when yiour work gets legitimatly stolen by someone who takes full credit, is obviously a different issue, the op has a problem with young kids who make similar things all the time, survival maps, hard mode ect.
either way minecraft is a rip off from dig dug, rocks n gems, and doom because of its first person aspects.

You say everyone is building cities and they're not using their imagination or they're not being creative enough yet your 3rd suggestion was "Build a city"
Things in life just happen you go though that time in life when your younger and you want to be the best be the most popular, and sometimes coping other people is the way to go. But as you get more mature you start to understand that coping is no the way to go.
yeah, but when you say its mostly children who do it, it seems a tad strange, simply because how is a child supposed to understand something like "artistic integrity" and "plagerism". because thats essentially what you're saying. i say who cares what the kids are building? if they are enjoying the game, thats all that really matters. to them at least. even though they are copying other people, they are still making it themselves.

Everyone always said that kids were imaginative and creative. Well I now understand that everyone that said so is wrong, these kids I presume, can't seem to come up with their own freaking idea,
today I had a crap load of work, would have been nice if a few people joined my server and helped out, jobs done now anyway, took a good 5 hours though.
