I've tried a couple of things that were on youtube but mothing is really working. Just wondering if any of you have maybe created something thats working out.
By mothing I think you meant nothing. In order to get wool, you have to punch the sheep. In the next update(I think) they add a sheer which you have to use to get wool. I have chests packed with wool, lol.
Oops, yeah. But I know that but I meant as in a teap or farm of some sort.
I built a fair size lava blade grinder. Works fine, I'm getting all kinds of items.... except for wool. Many a sheep has died in the thing, but I have yet to get 1 wool.
All you can do (for now) is smack 'em with something.

thats cause your burning the wool and its easiest once they can breed so anyone know what update that came with?

Am I the only one that sees a major problem with that? The passive mob GLOBAL spawn cap is fairly low... I think it's around 17? If they don't increase the spawn cap, breeding won't be very effective, because you won't be able to breed very much without hitting the spawn cap.
People have suggested building a mob trap. Thats probably your best bet. Although I built one and it doesn't produce very much at all , maybe I built it wrong x.x .

Obviously the wool is burning up, but it didn't in the PC version. Gathered lots of wool with that trap before. Why only wool burns up I don't know.
(Yes, the one in the video works about the same way as mine).
Maybe a cactus or water (fall) trap will work better. Hopefully someone who has build one of those will weigh in. I'd try a cactus trap, but I haven't found any cactus in my world yet.
Punch every sheep. Or just kill them outright to get them off the mob list and let other sheep spawn. If you want a specific color, it's more efficient to dye the sheep first.
I believe string can be crafted into wool in 1.6, so there's another way.
