I was digging in a mine, very deep. I was so close to bedrock, I could smell the pixels. It was growing darker and deeper, and I was running short on torches. This wasn't a very well-planned run; I had no sticks left and just 8 more torches. My only pickaxe, which was iron, had just a smidgen left on its condition bar. It was apparent that I couldn't just dig myself out. Earlier before, the cave had a dramatic decline...err... a hole, which means I couldn't navigate back to the surface without digging (unless i found an alternative cave). I also used the remainder of my cobblestone to create a giant mob of furnaces to smelt my metal. I was SOL.
I looked around, trying to find an exit. Fifteen minutes yielded absolutely no luck in finding the "other" cave. I was about to say, "screw it" and just off my guy...when a beacon of hope washed me through the cave. The wall I was picking at was holding up a huge underwater stream which flooded the cave I was digging in. Fighting against the current, I make my way through the hole and start swimming up. I have no idea where I'm going, as long as it's not anywhere near where I was stuck. After about 5 minutes of swimming "up" I finally reached the surface, welcomed by bright sunny skies. Damn! This stream ran from the surface, allllll the way to deep underground lava.
Any awesome, funny, or ridiculous stories would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!
haha, Ive had countless problems with the flint and steel....mainly with myself than with others, ironically. Also, those pony pics are quite impressive...I had to zoom in to be sure it wasn't just a picture off a book. You did very nicely around the edges and curves!
I was messing about at the bottom of a ravine, when I spotted a hole. As I gazed into it, I saw that it went down to flaming bridge over yet antoher ravine. feeling a daredevil, I threw an ender pearl down with precision aim, and instantly teleported to the bridge. Bestepid minecraft moment, at least for me.
And the weird one. I was one a friend's private server, when I spotted a ravine. Guess what? IT WAS ABOUT 5 RAVINES ON TOP OF EACH OTHER! Aaand there were zombies. However, we got a profit of gold and diamond, so totally worth it.
I have a quarry mine that goes all the way to bedrock. I mostly dug it with TNT since I have a ridiculous amount of gunpowder. The quarry has a one block stone "lip" that separates the sheer drop from some water.
Jumping in a boat, I headed over to the quarry. Somehow, the boat clipped right through the stone leaving me to sail around in a boat in midair above the quarry. Well, that only lasted a second or two before I fell from sea level (62ish?) to bedrock (4). No survival there.... I don't take a boat to the quarry anymore.
at bedrock i was just mining hoping to find diamond then i hear zombies REALLY close hit a block lava flowed out then i heard the zombie dying from the lava. but i never saw the zombie. sill at bedrock i hear water i dont even think water is at bedrock?!!!!? but i found my diamond
I was made a gigantic towerlike structure, just for shits and giggles. It was all the way to the highest point in the sky, and maybe like 10 blocks wide. The house is fairly far out into the ocean, with only a 2 block path to get back to the mainland, and I keep everything lighted with a ridiculous amount of torches. I was making renovations to the house when it turned daytime, so I went out to get some supplies. I opened the door, stepped out, closed the door, then turned around and started to walk. I got maybe four steps before a creeper fell from the sky and blew me to hell. Once I respawned, I went to the top of my tower to investigate. Somehow, despite it being lighted a bunch of creepers and skeletons had spawned on the ceiling. Apparently one decided life was boring and jumped off the side, somehow managing to land on this tiny little path right in front of me. I had a good laugh about that.
Here's a quick one my friend said he had a good feeling about a spot in a cave so we go there he stands 2 block away from lava he said "this is the spot" digs two blocks down boom diamonds

I've got about 20 hours into my home world and I've only found like 12 diamonds. Da eff
I survived falling into lava today with no armor what so ever. Not even a bucket of water to my name. 3 porkchops and hope. I nearly crapped a brick as I only survived with 1 heart left. D:
