So I was just winging at different map templates . I wasn't happy with what I was founding...too many beaches and waterways separating the land. Finally, I stuck with the map seed "Apocalypse" (no quotations). The map has rolling hills of snow, an exceptionally high amount of animal mobs, and the map is mainly solid, no waterways running through it. It's the perfect building map, if you were to ask me.
The only downside is that there is a severe lack of trees and caves. I noticed a small forest at the corner of the map. I'll have to look into that when I get home from work. As for caves, I looked for a solid ten minutes before stumbling on a cave. However, this cave yielded at least 40 iron and 12 gold before the cave even grew dark. Also, there was a pool of lava ONLY TWENTY BLOCKS from the surface. Ive never seen lava this close, or had such a high number of iron and gold at once like this.
Nice i will have to check this one out, as for the trees if they are scarce looks like you will have to start planting allot to keep an abundance of materials unless your duping.
@saltine713 Seriously do you have nothing better to do, the man was simply just putting up what he discovered, maybe its a seed no one has seen before we don't know. Trolls gonna Troll i guess.
Not everyone thinks like you, he's just trying to share something he thinks others might enjoy. You don't need to appreciate his findings but you can at least respect the fact others might.
Anyways, I remember finding a good seed or two back in the day before biomes that I really enjoyed as well. Bayou was one I always played on. If Minecraft XB360 is getting updated to the equivalent of Beta 1.7.3 soon, that means you guys will still get to enjoy some pretty crazy landscapes for a little bit longer, as I believe that's the last update before biomes were implemented.
the seed warm is awesome there is two lava falls on surface(that i have seen) tooooons of giant flat sided mountains where my house is theres a dungeon about 150 blocks away right by the surface thats got two chests in it. but it has a good size ocean type body of water and
quite a few lakes and waterfalls. i defiantly recommend it o and its got a ton of trees
Like many others I appreciate the suggestion of map seeds, so yes I'd like to say congratulations and thanks for suggesting a map seed you liked, unlike the total USELESS post quoted above, but I guess every game forum has people who love to just hate

Any thoughts?
I have a lava pool on the surface on my world, pretty cool. I'd invite you if you'd like to see.
Well, not quite. I posted this information for others to experiment with the seed and possibly find a new favored map. What you posted in return is hateful, in lack of better terms. There's no need to chew my head off, dude. If you have a problem with me sharing information with others, don't be involved. Easy-enough?
...and Xela0011, I'd like to check that out. I cant seem to find the perfect map seed. Whats thriving in one thing is lacking in another almost 9-10 times.

Totally not trolling or anything. It was actually just a simple question, no hatred intended. It was a serious question: I didn't know if you wanted feedback or just posting your thoughts out there.

I would reccomend a tree farm. Cut down a massive amount of the trees you would like to farm (I reccomend the white ones as they grow straight up and are easy to organize and cut down.) then plant all of the saplings in a specific area. I like to put a small cobblestone building next to the farm with an iron door to protect from mobs and fill it with chests. Store the logs instead of planks as they take up 1/4 of the room.
Also, I have a huge sugar cane farm that I made next to my tree farm. I made a massive building and covered the walls with books to make a library. It even has a water fall in the middle. Squids spawn and land on my floor, which has provided me with an unlimited number of ink sacks.
