$20 for a game that was delayed about 5 months, and not fully finished either, and they want us to pay for DLC, and the first update is coming in more than a month! BS! Oh well, can't wait for pistons.
hi, so i heard there will be updates from 1.8 on this 1.7 but since i didn't follow MC beta i don't know what was on the 1.8 anyone know what are they adding from 1.8 to this 1.7 update? i'm sorry if they are already on the thread but like i said i don't know the updates, bug fixes etc on mc 1.8

It is at 1.6 because that is when they signed the contract to make the game and they never said that there will be paid DLC unless it is something like skins/texture packs would be my guess and calm down atleast the are updating the game and it does take time to do things and that goes back to it being 5 months waiting, 4J had to practicly start from scratch.

I don't believe anything from 1.8 is going to be in the 1.7 update.
Thanks for compiling all this information for us. I'm happy that updates and DLC are two separate things. I was a little worried that there would be a cost to going from 1.6.6. to 1.7.3.
I can imagine that DLC could be things like skins and texture maps. Minor (hopefully) cost items. Or it could be some of the exclusive stuff they hinted at, however I don't know what that would be. It would either have to be something that makes sense for a console game, or something that Microsoft has paid to keep out of the PC updates. Otherwise it begs the question of why it wouldn't be included in the PC game to start with.
I hope the auto save feature will be something you can turn on and off. There are times I wouldn't want to save so any destruction done to my world wouldn't be permanent.

I think shears were the main thing they were pulling from 1.8 early to release to the 1.7.3 update.
Thanks for doing this, as I was having trouble finding the info.
I would like to note that I'm happy with the world size. I'm sure there optimizing the game for better performance, but I would like to see more players on the map, rather then bigger worlds. Maybe later when they have got it stable then we can have bigger worlds. Although I'd like the clouds pushed to the ceiling, but I'm sure it will come in one of the updates.
Also, I would like to see the torch lighting bug fixed. It makes branch mining nearly impossible, even with gamma turned to max.
I didn't see anything about creative mode. That's sad, but I'm excited that all updates will be free. What update does the water physics get better. I would really like to see more realistic water flows.

Creative doesn't come until 1.8 and I there is going to be a hot fix in the next 2 weeks or so to fix bugs and stuff.
Ugh... No point in getting attached to our worlds then i guess, no big builds, no long term survival goals etc. Whats the point? Gutted.
Think I'll just leave this version for my kids to mess around on.
Typical. Would you rather that new ravine was randomly placed where your house is currently located? The fact is that your world will be saved from any major changes so enjoy it for what it is. If you want something new or different then start up a new world and enjoy a brand new experience. The fact is that you can still have long-term goals, they are just within the context of the existing world.
no infinite worlds? wtf is that? i'm glad i looked at this thread before buying the game. i was JUST about to put up the points and i clicked on this thread.

It is still a fantastic game. If you are thinking about purchasing it but have your doubts wait for a later update and then reconsider.

compared to the PC the worlds are indefinably small, but it is still huge for most Xbox games. Especially XBLA games. i'd still say buy it if you love minecraft, it still has most of the charm the PC version has (really the only difference is that it isnt fully updated and crafting is way easier.)

I would like to know if they are going to add Death Notifications. I used to get a chuckle when watching a minecraft video just to see "Tried to swim in lava" pop up in the corner.

Awesome!! Thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize it was part of an update.
