I have only played Minecraft for a couple of weeks starting when it first came out for the xbox 360. It is the only version of Minecraft I have played, and I love it. It is basically the only game I have played since, but I was wondering about the updates. Some friends told me that when an update happened on the pc version, it would update their worlds too. But since the xbox 360 version only has a limited world, will the future updates update our current world or will we have to start a new world to get the effect of the update? I was wondering this because I have spent many hours working on my world, and I hope I don't have to start a new one.

Any update that alters the terrain generation will require a new world. Mineshafts, Jungles, etc. will not spawn on current worlds.

At least I know now. Could they expand our world and add the updated stuff to the expanded part of our world?

Even if that were possible, I don't think it would happen any time soon. They seem to be focusing on getting the updates out, and are unsure about increasing the world size. I wouldn't hold your breath.

I guess I will keep building until the update is released, and then I will start a new world and build something new.
