I am currently using this seed and I seem to run into underground caverns no matter where I dig. There are very deep lakes and some mid-sized mountains.
I have found 3 dungeons so far in these mazes of caverns. Lava seems very abundant in these caverns as well. At one location I found a lava lake and a large water fall right next to each other. After re-routing the water I was able to collect a stack of obsidian without to much effort.
I have found sugarcane, pumkins, cactus all right around the beginning spawn. I have yet to find clay.
Once I get a chance I can post some pictures and maybe some more accurate coordinates.
This seed is mainly grass and woodland, with a few scattered snow patches and a large desert at the top of the map. The terrain goes from slightly below sea level to extremely high, with huge rolling hills that often break into steep cliffs. It's basically one large continent surrounded by water, although there are patches of standing water scattered throughout, with sand and gravel around them.
The main geographic feature is one group of giant cliffs at (-49,71,-12) that are hollowed out somewhat, with overhangs and platforms that connect them. I've seen a few free-floating (small) structures, and a lot of exposed cave systems. Some of the larger cave systems were visible above ground at (-295,73,57). Plenty of coal and iron but i didn't go too deep.
And, as an added bonus, there's an exposed monster spawn with two chests built into a cliff wall at (16,106,125). I got two saddles, two buckets, cocoa beans, wheat, and bread from the chests.
[Edited] Forgot to mention, I also got an iron ingot and one string from those monster chests.
(P.S. XBOX HAS MAP COORDINATES NOW and that's awesome)
This seed is awesome looking! Right away it spawned me in a big bowl looking canyon with high ridges on 3 sides. While running around exploring the whole surface of the map I saw lots of promising looking deep caves. One problem though, after thoroughly searching every snow covered mountain top I found no pine/spruce trees. Only snow covered oaks and birch.
QUESTION: If I start the same seed over from scratch, is there a chance pine trees can spawn this time even if it didn't the last? Or are tree types set in the seed to?
try the seed gohugyourmomkid for real epic overhangs its hard to describe but search the whole map and you will see what i mean.....found it when my son was bugging me for hugs for about an hour so i said gohugyourmomkid.....turms out to be the best seed i have found so far.
I put my gamertag in for the seed. It's actually a really cool map with lots of caves, mountains, flatlands, sand, CLAY, lakes, cacti, and floating parts. I have already made a farm house in a lake. It's at the top-leftish of the map. It's a lake with sand in the middle, so I built the house on the sand, put dirt all around it for farming, and put cacti all around it to protect it against mobs and animals.
While exploring, I have also found a few dungeons. I got a music disk, some iron ingots, saddles, cocoa beans, wheat, bread, and string from them. There's plenty of coal and iron.
By my house, there is good scenery, plenty of tall grass, (there is a forest at the top-left of the map also).

I believe the type of tree is linked to the seed. I may be wrong but that is my understanding.
This seed is a frozen waste land. I explored the whole map and it was 70% white snow and 29% light blue ice. The remaining 1% consists of a few clumps of trees huddling together trying to keep warm.

I don't know a lot about seeds. Could there be any that majong created themselves like special maps or all they all just generated based on the letters being turned into code?

There could be but seeds are randomly generated and writing something down in seed is just part of that eventhough typing in a certain seed has the same terrain as others who type in the same seed.
Anyone got a post 15th of June seed with all 3 biomes that has a large desert? Like, +30% dry desert but with some snow and pines on a small part of the map.

I was playing with my friend the other day, he picked the seed "Nazi" (i dont know why he picked that). It doesnt have very much mountains, excpet the southern part, i found 6 full stacks of clay. I didnt see much pumpkins though. The north west, east, and southeast edges of the map have alot of ice. The north is mostly filled with snow as well. The one problem i noticed was that there is alot of water. I dont know if the new update changed alot of it.

We do, Minecraft uses these & convert them to decimal values, that it then uses to generate certain terrain.
