Hello again guys. I have found 3 more epic maps, 1 with very high mountains and 2 frozen tundras.
Up first: "The Tower"
Seed Name: THE TOWER Seed Number: THE TOWER
Description: This seed spawns you in an extremely wooded area with mountains that go all the way to the top (129) where 130 is the maximum Y-value. Hope you didn't think gargamel was tall...
Look at the sheer mass of these mountains in the far corner of the map:
This looks to be much like the ravines that we will see in the 1.8.2 update:
Next we have a seed covered 90% by ice and frozen biomes:
Seed Number: 1754681964444539131
Description: If Minecraft had an antarctica, this would be it. Lot's of snow and ice if you like that kind of thing.
Hope you didn't think that last one looked cold. Lastly we have a very rare seed that is confirmed to be ~97% ice and snow biome.
Seed Number: -4879793984625233800
Description: Guys this thing is ridiculously cold looking. There are VAST amounts of frozen ocean, and this is possibly one of the most desolate seeds I've seen yet. Lots of flat, open areas. Much less woodlands than the previous seed.
And I just wanted to repost my SUPER find into this post to make it easier to add to the list:
4 or more dungeons with no digging, all in one cave. Everything listed can be found without mining. At least 35 diamonds are available with no digging or mining. Plus much more.
Today I generated a new seed that is going to blow your minds. I'll walk you through it.
I haven't even explored the rest of the world yet, I've been only in this one cave! Who knows what else is on this seed.
This is probably one of the biggest cave systems you'll ever see! It goes all the way to floor 13 or less without digging! Most of the stuff is literally around the corner from other stuff. Its insane.
I was joking around and typed in MINE DAT CRAP since I know it generates a nice seed on PC but on xbox its entirely different and I'm here to share the results:
Seed Name: MINE DAT CRAP Seed Number: 1150786836
When you spawn, you will be surrounded by sand land mass and water around it. somewhere nearby there's going to be a mountain of sand with a hole in it.
Make sure you get a lot of wood for your pickaxe and torches.
Cave Entrance: X: -24 , Y:80 , Z: -22
When you enter the cave, you'll see some water on the right. Go straight and slightly to the left and you'll see a hole: drop down and you'll find an abundance of Iron and Coal to start your journey. From there continue on to find what I have listed.
You can literally start from the entrance and work your way down to the first 5 diamonds at the bottom of the cave without digging at all! (see #1 on list of diamond findings)
MAJOR SPOILERS FROM HERE ON! If you want to explore this on your own, don't read any further.
Here is a list of coordinates where you will find the dungeons, diamonds and more:
Sorry about the name, it's a randomly generated seed, as we didn't know how this game worked, we had never played it before. This was the first seed we ever produced as well as the first time playing minecraft. It's not very impressive, doesn't have huge mountains or anything, but there are some interesting massive cave systems underground. The first house coordinates listed are where I built my first house, there is a large cave system near it. Main house coordinates are where I built my second house, it has a nice little natural mountain to build into, and a huge cave system underneath it I found by sheer determination to find something.
Resources are plenty, lots of coal, iron, diamond, gold, lava, water, pumpkins, squid, wolves (we've tamed two wolves, and there was a big pack of them), pigs, sheep, cows. No dungeons from what we've explored, and this is our main file, so not sure if any exist. There are massive caves everywhere though, so we have gotten quite lost on many occassion.
Main house
X-186, Y: 71,Z: 333
First house
X: 30, Y: 68, Z: -42
Gigantic cave
X: -419, Y: 66, Z: 297
entrance to cave under main house
X: -221, Y: 27, Z: 298
Pictures are all naturally occuring caves, no sort of digging has been done other than to reach them.
Actually, Xbox 360 players can do almost what PC players can do. We can backdate our game as well.
If you still want to use these seeds and keep old terrain generation, you could clear your cache which deletes game updates. Start up Minecraft, deny updating, start a world with one of these old seeds, then just reupdate the game.
Hyped for 1.8? Start off with this Survival Island seed. Spawns you on an island surrounded around water. Only one tree is spawned!
seed: -1767412485926484027
So are the mods going to manage this thread? Are you going to update the first post and deal with the confusion and bloat caused by hundreds of dead seeds?
They'll probably do what they did with the seeds for the PC. Archive the old ones in a spoiler and make the main post all about the new 1.8 seeds.
It's definitely going to take a while though. So people shouldn't expect it to be done tonight or anytime today.
Well, as good a job Rogue did of setting up the OP in this thread, it hasn't been updated or maintained in ages. I was willing to give that a go but I doubt I'll get privs to edit the admins post.
I'd be willing to do it as well, but I doubt they'd let anyone other than a moderator or admin to do it.
Has large desert and swamp areas but there are plains, forests and some insane landscapes in the extreme hills. There is also a stretch with a ton of trees in water.
Oh, and there's literally like 7 villages in the world.
The seed “epic pants” is nice. There is a water-desert village at spawn. Here is a thread about it: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1523965-“epic-pants”-seed-water-village-spawn/
is the seed. The world is one large sand island in the crude shape of a crescent moon with 7 villages, 2 surface dungeons, and a third dungeon that is within 5 blocks down and 10 blocks away from one of the surface dungeons. Also a ravine. Very tall mountains in the upper left portion of the map.
Would make a great map for survival due to the lack of trees (one location on southern end of map).

was wondering if any of these seeds are the same for 1.8.2 cuz all the ones i have used before are not even close to what they are now soo question is shouldent there be a new list??
or at least have them categorized
but " sandbox " is a good one found two villages the bigger one is pictured
seed= empure
a little more water than I would like but everything I have made today seems to be like that. 4 villages (original spawn is nearly standing in one). decent spread of biomes and the villages are spread out.
seed= 3mpurE
interesting. spawned 20000 leagues under the sea, had to swim for a small patch of land and cant see much of anything in any direction other than water. could be cool.

Retired StaffQuesadila is a cool seed, shame it lacks dark wood.
I know that map like the back of my hand though.
Keep yourself up to date with the Minecraft Forum rules!

All of these seeds will be useless as of tomorrow.
Well, they won't be useless, they just won't generate the same worlds anymore. Everyone will have to find new favorite seeds.
Why? Is the update coming tomorrow?
I made backups of my favorite.
Yes, it is indeed coming tomorrow.
