Marine that fights for his country... This I can respect and understand why they went threw the trouble. But a kid with a banned Xbox (even know you may have not caused the ban) seems highly unlikely. Best thing to do is save up and get a new/ used Xbox from a store. Also you don't need Xbox gold membership to download games. You just need it to play online. So you can try creating a new gamer tag and try getting online. Or just wait a while, sometimes Microsoft drops banns and suspensions when they do major updates.
if it is a console ban it cannot be taken away the only way around one is buying a new one but if its a account it could be dropped but most likely wont happen
he can access the internet, but his console is banned from xbox live.
Oh right lol i forgot. Well.. The OP could make a new account by getting a 24 hour?(from an awesome friend who happens to have one) and go to a friends' house, download Minecraft to his Xbox since IPs are different with each location, but I could be totally wrong..
A disk version won't happen solely because it would cost too much money.
The game is doing perfectly fine on the Xbox Live Arcade with already over 1 million copies sold. They won't make a disc version just because an extremly small number of people either can't get the game, or don't want to buy it off Xbox Live.

There are two different types of bans that Microsoft uses. One is a profile ban that just stops your profile from accesing Xbox Live. The other however, is a console ban. A console ban makes it so that your profile and any future profiles created on it, will be banned form Xbox Live.
He could make a new profile on someone elses Xbox and use it to download the game and then put hat profile and the game onto his Xbox. As long as the profile that bought the game is on the same console as said game, his real profile will be able to play it.

Problem solved! nice job, i was thinking like that, or how CyberMario said using a USB would work too?
First, it's CD not a DVD. DVDs are movies.
And second, Minecraft is a downloadable game, and it's so small to download, it wouldn't be efficient making it a CD.

DVD is not solely for movies. DVD is a medium as is CD or even Blu-Ray. XBox 360 Games are burned on DVD discs. CD format hasnt been used for at least 2 console ages (think PS1 was the last, i could be wrong with any obscure systems). PS2/Original Xbox were on DVDs for their games.

You're right, it would be insufficient for now at least. They could make a GOTY edition and have all the DLC on it, like they do with most games that have DLC.

If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
Maybe they will make a disk version of Minecraft Xbox with a few other XBLA games like they did with the XBLA version of Plants Vs. Zombies that came with Zuma and Peggle on a disk.
Actually it would be a downgrade in fps and loading speed. Games run better when they are run straight from the harddrive instead of having to be read from a disc.
True, but wouldn't installing the game to your HDD fix the issue for the most part?
Remember Xbox implemented installing games in 2008 to the HDD to optimize game performance and decrease loading time. I am certain that 4J has optimized its code to run from the hard drive. Each game developer has to define what content is actually ran on the Xbox for hard-drive based loading. Loading content from the disc will only slow things down.
On another note, I don't see there being a market for a disc version of the game for Microsoft Studios to consider. (This decision is ultimately up to Microsoft as they are the publisher for the console version of Minecraft.) I see minor points like somebody wanting to take it to a friend's house (even though you can download it there), or for those that don't have Xbox Live or an internet connection -- but the cost and effort to produce a packaged version of Minecraft is far too much considering that there is very little benefit from producing a disc version.
On the other hand, I can see it being possible that, at one point, they can offer "Minecraft Pro" (or some other name) in a packaged version which contains the game and the then-released DLC, for maybe $30 or $40. From here, they can run the game off the disc (although the game will strongly advise them to save it to their hard drive -- the game is extremely small in size). The disc would also allow the players to install additional content and give them free access to the remainder of DLC for the game.
When you install from Disc to HDD it copies the whole disc, not just parts of it. so it saves wear and tear on your drive since all it needs to do when you play is you still have the disc in the drive to play the game on start up

It wouldn't cost much if they don't mass produce it and like I said in my previous post some companies have made exceptions.

I doubt that because those were all the from the company PopCap as well as the XBOX Live Arcade Starter Pack and this is one game made from an independent company.
dvd versions are for games that are enourmous ie over 7.5 Gig, minecraft is ~100mb, that's 1.333' % disc space used up, waste of a disc
get another xbla account (you dont need a gold account just a free silver one is enough) buy the game with that, and all users on that xbox will be able to play minecraft
There are ways to un-ban your Xbox, just go look for a tutorial. Likewise you could make a silver, put some M$ points on it and buy it at your friends house... then bring it back to your Xbox on a USB. Also, (note that I do not support this) a JTAG could fix your problems.
Disk cost too much to be made. Minecraft would have been 2x the price and failed out the gate because it took several years to gain. Steam on Pc. Closest you might get is the game on a usb stick if you can get lucky.
I belive there should be a dvd version of Minecraft for xbox, my xbox is banned from live (bought it alredy like that) (i dont have money to buy original games, we use that money for more important things, and also the games are quite expensive here) so i cant play the game, and i really want it, even if i have to play on an outdated version for the rest of my xbox's live, i would play it, so please, consider lauching a DVD version of it.
Also: No falme war, no trolling, no hate post, don't being a moron/douchebag at all, or your post will simply be reported
You should have thought about something like this before you got your xbox banned?
He did say that when he bought it, it was already banned.Actually, you can probably buy a USB stick and format it on the XBOX. Go and use it on someone elses XBOX and purchase the game there with your account and install it onto the USB stick. Then just copy it from the stick onto your XBOX.

Also, here is an awesome suggestion I had: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1745550-biome-effects/
Correct.
