Launch Pad? Help?

I've been trying to make a launch pad for ages, but nothing seems to work. can anyone tell me how this is done? I've never had so much trouble making something work in mc before

I mean a human cannon yes, built so I can stand on it and it will launch me into the air

speaking of this does anyone have a link to where i can find a good cannon for shooting TNT?
