The way the save system works now isn't very helpful. There are too many bugs that freeze the game and can cause you to lose hours of work. Even if the bugs get patched, will it be possible to change the way the game is saved with future updates? It seems like it might be difficult because of how long it takes when you choose to save, but if it can do that in the background every few minutes, I think that would make a lot people happier. Hopefully that will be possible through patches.
