Do you think the long awaited update will include creative mode? Or could that be a possible DLC? Seems like a good way for microsoft to soak up some more of our money, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was the latter.
Creative mode came to the PC in 1.8. The same will most likely happen on the Xbox version. 4J has already stated they have not brought any gameplay elements forward to 1.7.3 from 1.8
It doesn't seem out of the question that Creative Mode could come in 1.7.3. 4JStu said they were pulling things from further updates that would fit, and Creative seems like a big one that people want.
As for DLC costing money, it would surprise me if Microsoft tried something, but I think most major updates will just be free title updates, not DLC. The DLC will probably be skins and texture packs.
They already said that updates will all be free just like PC ( 1 time payment) so shouldnt cost anything. Will creative be included? well your guess is as good as anyones
thanks for the input guys I've heard the updates are going 1.7.3, 1.8, 2.0 or whatever the release version of the game was, so hopefully if creative isn't already planned for the next patch, it'll show up in 1.8 also yes updates will be free, but not (all) DLC. My concern was that microsoft would penny pinch and make them release a new game mode as a paid DLC. Which would suck
but thanks a bunch again

They are not pulling gameplay features or modes from 1.8 into 1.7.3. He said that were only pulling enhancements to the game from the later update. Things that make the game run smoother, not items, blocks, or terrain generation.
But in my short time on this forum I have already learned that nobody reads other topics, even the ones that 4J have directly replied to.
So true unfortunately. 4JSteve or 4JStu could make a topic answering everything and people would still pass it over to make their own topic asking the same questions over and over.
I'm sure veryone assuming they know what's up would just love to read this...
We have actually brought a few changes forward from 1.8, but nothing to do with items or tiles or world generation. Just things that make the game run a bit better.
We will also be adding some Xbox specific changes with each update. Skins is our first priority.
Not updated exactly as the PC version. The next update will be a bug fix, followed by an update to 1.7.3 of the PC version with some changes from 1.8 brought forward. After that we will be looking at the features that we can bring from future updates and see what works and what doesn't.
This was a response to a question asking, "Does any one know if the 360 version will be updated exactly as the PC version?"
Pistons, shears and stackable fences are the main thing. Along with some new Xbox features and bug fixes. Before that update there will also be one that is just bug fixes.

Not everyone can be here all the time and see every post. I saw a post from 4JStu about bringing stuff from 1.8, but never the one you just posted.

Long awaited? It hasn't even been a month.
Why do people hold Minecraft to higher standards than other Xbox 360 titles? Updating on the 360 is slow. It doesn't matter who's updating. They have to go through Microsoft testing/certification and that alone takes a couple weeks.

I'm usually not trying to be rude. So if a post comes across that way then sorry :]
Simply coming from the point of view of someone who owns minecraft for the PC and is eagerly waiting for the 360 version to be on par with the PC verion i think anyone can agree that given the amount of hype leading up to the release of minecraft for 360, along with it being released on 1.6.6, it's been pretty long awaited.

The wait for the game was long and everyone knew it was going to be 1.6.6. I understand wanting the update. But to say its a long awaited update is a bit ridiculous.
