1. I'm guessing that once the game is patched up to the point the PC version is at that I will have to create an entirely new world for these changes to take effect? Not gonna put alot of effort into my world if this is the case.
2. Is there a way to create a random but generally flat and snow/sandy/etc map? Or perhaps the opposite?
3. Besides being disbaled via Lava, what exactly can you do with Monster Spawns?
Can't remember all of them but I'll just update when I remember them. Thanks for reading and answering.
1) Most likely. If you have explored all of your map then you will not get new biomes and terrain from later updates. You will however, get all non terrain generation features. Like when 1.7.3 comes out for example. You'll get pistons and shears, but not any of the new terrain if you've explored your entire map.
Well, my point in asking about seeds is that I want to make a unique world, not a world identical or very similar to another. Which is what seeds do, right? I want a world that fits one of the above but is still mostly random.
So I can get away with creating a world before the updates and only exploring a very small portion so that said updated blocks will spawn once I do investigate?

I meant like interacting with the actual cube.
You can only destroy the cube.
2)Use a seed when you first make a world. Seeds allow you to manipulate the world generation. Go here http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1219522-sharing-the-best-minecraft-xbla-seeds/ to find seeds for what you are looking for.
3)Monster spawners only spawn monsters. All that can be done to them is destroying them, or harvesting them.
