I have 20 dogs. I previously had them in my front yard, but due to the passive mob spawn cap, no animals would spawn nearby.

I recently moved them to a doghouse 300+ blocks away from my primary play area, but animals still won't spawn here...

Any idea on how to fix this? Besides killing the dogs...

The worlds have spawn limits. the only way to come down from that spawn limit is to kill your dogs. They aren't real and you'll get over it.

You have 20 of them if you kill 1 I think it'll be fine

This topic is completely different. I'm basically asking if there is a global passive mob spawn limit. I guess there is.

You acknowledged that you thought there was in the first post then proceeded to ask if there was a way to get around it without killing your wolves.

You weren't asking if there was a passive mob limit and if you were intending to then you need to pick your words better. Otherwise you won't get the answers you want.

Don't kill them personally, just go down a cave and by some lava, the ones that survive can live.

I used a minecart over a large hole. 1 survived.

Keep around 5 they're good for hunting at night or helping you around + they'll spawn

But I don't want them around me. They get in my way and push me around, and my friend always accidentally hits them, and ends up dying.

I'd rather just have a few in a house somewhere far away (so they don't teleport to me), and I'll go and see them sometimes lol

That's true i had around 15 and they pissed me off so yeah id just make a little hut for them + it might take you a couple of minutes to get em all in there :S
