BuildCraft is a fairly popular and well received mod amongst the Minecraft PC community. While there has not been any definite word as to what mods may make it into the Xbox version (or whether there will be mods at all!), BuildCraft would be an excellent addition as it opens up an already amazing experience to even more styles, more creative solutions, and, I fell, increases overall game satisfaction. Would you also like to see BuildCraft make it onto the Xbox Minecraft? If this thread gets enough attention, perhaps we can bring it to 4J Studios' attention and hopefully make this hope a reality!

It would be great to see, but personally I would rather see Better than Wolves over BuildCraft, it keeps more in line with Vanilla MineCraft.
While Better than Wolves would be great, my only concern would be that it is currently a single-player only mod (I'm pretty sure...). They would have to add support for multiplayer before 4J could even begin to recode it for xbox.
i would but i would like industrial craft2 much more hopefully both since they work well together
I agree that they both work well together. I find BuildCraft more intriguing, however that is personal preference. The best result would be both coming to the Xbox!
Redpower 2 is an amazing mod, but it is also a very complex mod. Not only would it be a huge undertaking to create all of those items for the xbox version, but I feel like it would be very difficult to upkeep and patch as new items are constantly added. Part of the brilliance of minecraft is its core simplicity and the level of complexity that you can create out of it. Redstone 2 (while amazing) seems like it may be a bit too complex at its root.

You can't really argue against one of those mods with that logic without technically arguing against both.
I disagree. BuildCraft adds somewhere in the realm of 30 new items to the game, most of which are pretty easy to figure out the use of (pipes used to transport items gathered from quarry run by engine). Redpower 2, on the other hand, adds nearly 100 new items that are combined in more complex ways (when should I use wires vs cables vs jacketed cables? and how does that play into the bigger picture of what I'm trying to build?) Just my 2 cents.

If you're questioning when to use jacketed cables over cables over wires, you're over thinking things. Nearly half the items added in redpower 2 are panels, covers and the like created with a saw and used to keep things looking nice. When you boil it down RP2 adds a few machines, pipes to pump things around, and a way to power such things. it adds the benift of redstone wireing into the mix allowing you to compact your redstone creations so you aren't taking up a 10x10 room to make your iron door open and not leave you trapped on the other side.
In the end, you asked weather i'd like to see buildcraft. I answered that I'd rather see redpower2 and stated that was my opinion up front (thusly, IMHO was added to my post). There's no need to try to dis-credit my choice.
I'm not trying to dis-credit you. You said i couldn't argue my logic against one mod without it technically being true for both. I followed that up with a counter arguement. I never said your statement was invalid or that it lacked just reasoning. I just stated that I disagreed and why.

aside from all the arguments about wether mods wil be added or not or which mod is better, back onto the subject. I think having Buildcraft would be great, but i would like to see that with idustrial craft too. they are both great mods and they would make the gameplay with your friends fun.

I don't honestly believe either one of us argued that one was better then the other. I was just frustrated that he was completely against RP2 from the start, where as I never specifically argued against BC.
Mods are actually quite possible, 4J would have to ask for the mod makers' permission to redistribute their creation on the Xbox and then they could just recode and market it as Free DLC.
My thoughts exactly. Mods, in the traditional sense, would not work as Microsoft has a closed system. Mods that are reworked and provided as studio released DLC is perfectly fine. There are hurdles, of course, but nothing that is insurmountable.

I'm not against RP2. The purpose of this thread was to inquire about and gather support for a console port of BuildCraft. As I said earlier RP2 is a great mod, but it is not the focus of this thread.

I'd avoid the disappointment and assume that Mods wont come to xbox at all, in any form. Why would they? There have never been mods for any other xbox game and I dont believe the systems are in place to allow them.
Mojang and 4J should have been up front about mods instead of giving hope to people so they buy this game. We're talking microsoft here folks, they wont allow it, the xbox is a very closed platform sadly. Just beause you want something badly enough, doesnt mean it will happen.
I would rather Mojang/4J concentrate on making a better minecraft instead of the current long standing tactic of relying on mods to fill out the game for them. Ideally let 4J deviate from PC minecraft to add things like mob skins variants, mob variants in general and all the good stuff Minecraft is severely lacking at this stage of its life (which be honest Im sure many thought we would have all sorts of cool stuff in the game by now instead of having to rely on mods for a more diverse world... ).
Thats the problem with being a game developer. You don't always have time for EVERYTHING, I think its nice how they rely on the community to help the game strive to new lengths. They can only do so much on their budgets and deadlines, but if the community themselves can do it and make it work then whats the problem? Sure its not an official add from the creators but its practically the same thing someones coding, hard work to improve theirs and everyone else's game play. And why don't they do it themselves you wonder? Because they already know if someone wants it bad enough it will be made one way or the other. This allows them to focus on the more important updates and additions to the game while an independent party makes something that maybe they couldn't fit in their schedule or just dropped. While you don't seem to think to highly of them, mods helped (partly) make the minecraft you (possibly?) love today.
