I find myself mainly with Zombies and some Spiders having a bit of trouble because I'll be a good distance away from them, surely out of harms way but still take damage, I'm not sure if it's lag or something along the lines of that but it's frustrating. Is this happening to anyone else?
Yup. In the PC Version, i can kill zombies, spiders and creepers with ease without taking any damage. However, in this version, zombies seem to hit me before i can push them back, spiders seem to rape my face, and creepers dont seem to cancel their explosion when i knock them back :/
Yeah! Especially the Creeper part, I'm trying to get gunpowder and I hit the creeper once and he knocks back, I run but he still blows up.

yeah it's really obnoxious, especially when they leave those ugly craters all over the place.
